Some good...some bad

My family recently returned from our third visit to Las Brisas in Huatulco. One of the reasons we keep going back is the weather and the staff at the resort. I have to mention that we returned this year ...with a bad taste in our mouth unfortunately. I booked a Jr. Suite as I was bringing a teenager along and wanted the extra space. We had nice room close to the Mexican Restaurant which is our preference. Now when I say close...it's at least a four minute walk straight uphill. We don't mind the exercise, but it is a large resort and rooms are not close. They do have golf carts available to help with those that can't walk. On our final day our plane was cancelled by Air Canada due to weather. Not their fault. What I am upset about is that the hotel moved us to lowest room possible and cut off our BBC bracelets. Again, this is our third time visiting and we tip and treat their staff well. Our flight was booked at 7:30am the next morning so we would not get breakfast. They kicked us out of the Jr. Suite and as I mentioned moved us to a basic room with no balcony. We had to be out by noon and we couldn't have our new room until 3pm. Pretty sure the resort was not full. Was it really important for you to cut off our premium bracelets? We were really disappointed. Our new room was $320 US and we didn't even get coffee or breakfast the next day. I must mention too that I have never found the customer service great by the staff in the lobby. I emailed the resort and did not get a response which is even more disappointing. I want to mention some staff that go out of their way to make sure the customers are happy. We tend to eat at the Mexican for breakfast and Anita is always there to make sure your coffee is topped up. After a day at the pool or the beach we often visited Miquel at the Mexican bar for a margarita. He makes a really good one! A new restaurant for us this year was the Indian restaurant. What a great experience and the food was good. Get Edgar to make you a special tea!! One of our favourites was Lucill around the pool. She always made sure we had a drink. Again, thank you everyone for your hard work. We usually participated in water aerobics and Adele made sure you had a good lunchtime workout. She did a great job! In the evening we tended to go to the pool bar for a drink before bed. Hugo made sure we were taken of care. Again, the staff are hard working and deserve a shout out. I want to commend the hotel for doing a great job with the Super Bowl party. It was our first time being away from home during the Super Bowl but the staff made it really fun. Don't go looking for a coffee before 7am. The hotel needs to serve coffee in the lobby or somewhere for those of us who are up early. It's one of my complaints every year. They don't have a coffee room like most hotels do. We had a nice holiday. Will we be back? I'm not sure. Sorry, just really disappointed how we were treated when the flight was cancelled.

A lot of walking which we loved but wouldn’t be a good place for anyone with mobility issues having said that, they do have shuttles that can pick you up to take you places around the resort. The beaches w...ere fantastic with a great beach for snorkelling, however, the chair saving is fierce! Rooms could use some updating and not allergy friendly at restaurants. Lots of pickleball courts as well and for the most part, friendly staff! Omelette station and women who made them was amazing!
