February 28, 2026 – 9:15 a.m. M.T. WestJet is committed to a safe and coordinated repatriation effort for guests impacted by the recent events in Mexico. This includes both guests who held a reservation for affected flights of February 22 and 23, as well as others who now wish to return to Canada. WestJet operates 63 per cent of all flights between Canada and Puerto Vallarta, which means this repatriation effort is extensive. We continue to work around the clock to ensure all guests have the return flight they need. WestJet has already operated 14 repatriation flights and will operate two more over the coming days. To further increase the ability to return Canadian’s home, the airline has also up-gauged existing operations by assigning larger aircraft to already scheduled flights. With the resumption of Puerto Vallarta airport operations and the conclusion of the local shelter in place advisory as of February 24, WestJet initiated reaccommodation efforts for guests disrupted by the February 22 and 23 flight cancellations. Guests currently in destination, and looking to return to Canada, are asked to follow the actions below, depending on their type of booking: Air-only guests Guests that booked with WestJet for air-only may use WestJet’s online Manage Trips tool and follow the step-by-step directions to view and select new flight options or request a refund, as advised by email at the time-of-flight cancellation. Guests unable to access Manage Trips or needing any additional assistance are advised to contact WestJet via their preferred method . Vacation package guests Guests of Sunwing Vacations, WestJet Vacations or Vacances WestJet Québec have had their vacation packages, including their return flights updated. Guests awaiting updated flights, needing different flights, or needing any other additional assistance, can contact the provider who made the booking, Sunwing Vacations, WestJet Vacations, or Vacances WestJet Québec directly. Where available, guests may also speak with local Sunwing Vacations or WestJet Vacations destination representatives at their vacation resort. For both air-only and packaged vacation guests, those who booked through a travel agent, online booking agency or corporate travel arranger, should contact them directly for assistance with their bookings. The safety of our guests, partners and team members remains our top priority. February 24, 2026 - 12:19 p.m. MT Currently, WestJet's priority is reaccommodating guests who were originally scheduled to return Sunday, February 22 and Monday, February 23.
