WestJet’s codeshare agreements offer our guests the opportunity to book with WestJet and reach further horizons with flights operated by our codeshare partners. When your itinerary includes codeshare partner-operated flights, you’ll earn WestJet dollars and qualifying spend based on your tier status and fare purchased, just as if WestJet was operating the entire itinerary.

Codeshare agreements allow multiple airlines to sell space on the same flight as if it were their flight. The airline selling seats is referred to as the marketing carrier; the airline providing the aircraft, crew and ground-handling support is referred to as the operating carrier.

When booking your codeshare reservation, you can identify if any portion of your flight will be operated by another airline. The "Operated by:" section below your WestJet flight number will indicate the operating carrier for applicable legs of travel.

Yes, you will earn WestJet dollars and qualifying spend towards tier status as long as WestJet is the marketing carrier. You can easily spot the marketing carrier for your flights by looking at the flight numbers listed on your itinerary. If they start with WS, then WestJet is the marketing carrier.

While you will earn as usual, most top-tier or cardholder benefits are limited for use only when your itinerary is wholly marketed and operated by WestJet. Visit westjet.com/silver, westjet.com/gold or westjet.com/platinum or westjet.com/worldelite for more details on your individual benefits. 

Platinum, Gold and Silver members have access to certain benefits like preferred seating, priority services and lounge access to Delta Sky Club® when flying with Delta through a separate loyalty partnership with Delta Air Lines. See our Delta partner page for full details.

Loyalty partners

Our partnerships with four airlines go beyond codeshare to more expansive loyalty partnerships that benefit members of WestJet Rewards and, reciprocally, members of each our partners’ loyalty programs. WestJet’s loyalty partners include Delta, Air France, KLM and Qantas. You can earn WestJet dollars when you book and fly directly with any of these airlines. Just add your WestJet Rewards ID. The number of WestJet dollars you’ll earn when booking with these partners varies by airline, booking class, flight distance and tier status at time of travel.

When flying with Delta, WestJet Rewards Platinum, Gold and Silver members also enjoy a selection of priority services and other flight benefits.
