We'll miss you Iberostar Cozumel!

We absolutely love this resort! We've been here nine Januarys for two weeks a stay. Unfortunately they got involved with IHG Hotels & Resorts. They raised their rates by 40%, that's out of our league. We're heartbroken but found a property that was affordable but doesn't come close to Iberostar.

I don’t write reviews often but I have been so impressed with my stay here, I had to make an exception. I am not usually an all inclusive resort type of guy, preferring smaller hotels and making treks - but there are 2 things that I really want to highlight though that have been amazing and made me change my mind: 1. The staff - everyone has been really attentive and helpful. In particular, I’ll highlight their “Star Players” - whose job it is to interact with guests and run activities. Prior to coming - I assumed these would all be lame and I’d just skip it. But they have such great personalities and really do a great job at pumping up the fun. I had fun playing pool Bingo for example and I normally HATE bingo! That’s how friendly and fun these people are. In particular, I will highlight Rasheed, Max, Fabian, Humberto, Angelica, and Monse as having been really awesome. I also want to highlight the staff at the Oriental Restaurant - they went above and beyond! 2. I also assumed the buffet food would be sub par because - it’s a buffet! And I got pretty high standards for cuisine. But I’ve really enjoyed many of their dishes here. The coconut fish had a great sauce. was the best I’ve had from a restaurant. The tacos have been good with fresh made tortillas. They had fish tacos one day - lightly battered and fried - I ate 4 and went around telling people how good they were. Overall - very happy with our stay here! And it’s closeness to the reefs for divers is the icing on top!
