Great family resort
DavisTA81 on Dec 28, 2024
Koloa Landing is a great spot for a family vacation. The rooms are spacious, with kitchen facilities and a washer & dryer. The pool facilities are great for younger and older kids. The location in the south shore is close to the beaches, shops & restaurants. The on property restaurant is solid & reasonably priced for a resort restaurant. So, why not 5 stars? A few nits: (1) housekeeping service can be spotty - we were gone all day and didn’t have our privacy sign out; after a day of hiking at 4:30, the room hadn’t been serviced. A call to the desk remedied the issue, but we were short on towels post hike. (2) A few areas in the room are a little dated, nothing bad, but not 5-stars (very slow driers, worn couch, etc.). (3) I got a text asking to review the hotel at 6 AM, a bit early for the hotel to be texting me (in my opinion). All-in-all a great stay. We would, and will, certainly come back.
Not a luxury resort by any standard

This place is comical, at best. We were expecting luxury five star at &1,600 a night. The bed is like sleeping on a pile of unfolded laundry - just a lumpy mess. The room is so outdated it’s like going back to the 70’s. There is one restaurant which is basically a tiny place next to the main pool. No room service. They’ll deliver a paper bag of food in takeout plastic from restaurant but that’s about it. We asked for a recommendation for a Japanese restaurant or sushi and they were apparently gobsmacked by that one. So, we googled for one. This place is literally like a high need mobile park. I am dumbfounded. I cannot believe it’s even in business. Also, who voted the pool beat in America? Our community pool at home is better. ??
