A great property which lacks the Marriott spirit

I have been a regular visitor to the Accor group of hotels & more so of the Marriott brand .But the hospitality at this property was quite contrary to the Brand ethos . The check in was smooth but service went downhill from there.The restaurant have really basic fare and the morning breakfast really frugal for a rates property. But what really is a let off is that wether it be the restaurant or the front desk the staff courtesy is found really wanting. It's sad to see such a great & iconic property running without a Marriott soul. Maybe a wake will allow it to take the next level it really can reach .

The hotel is exceptional, both the location and the attention of the staff (especially Pei and Alex) at the reception. They answer any questions and help you with your sightseeing in the city. I would definitely repeat the stay. Breakfast is fair but of good quality.
