Beautiful property and beautiful beach one of the best places there. But the hotel needs to improve a lot starting from rooms that are falling apart to the food that’s is edible but not close to be good.
Mixed Experience at Occidental Caribe

The beach and pool area at Occidental Caribe are truly beautiful. However, our stay was marred by inconsistent service. While some employees were exceptional, others were rude and lacked respect. We encountered several issues during our stay: 1. The first night's dinner at Marenostrum , Manager Wandy restricted our orders to one main course, which wasn't reasonable. 2. At the bar, my husband was cut off by two men, and the bartender prioritized them instead. He was even holding a dollar to tip the bartender. 3. A bartender lied to my son about being out of a particular drink, only for another bartender to provide it later. 4. My friend was cut off in line by multiple women at the beach bar, and the bartender told him to go to the back of the line 5. As a Premium level guest, I was denied access to the spa, hot tub, and sauna, despite other Premium guests receiving complimentary access. This discrepancy raises concerns about unequal treatment of American guests. Despite these issues, we appreciated the exceptional service from Francia, Ana at the Premium Club, and Restaurant Manager Edward, who made our vacation enjoyable. To elevate Occidental Caribe to a great hotel, I suggest implementing a code of conduct for employees to ensure consistency and respect in their interactions with guests. Addressing these issues would improve future experiences and align with the high standards we've experienced at other Barceló resorts.
