Reviews
So good, I decided to start writing reviews!

Let me tell ya, I spend a lot of time in hotels, but my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Waikiki convinced me to start writing reviews about my experiences. Why? Because the HGI is a great value in a gre...at location and a great staff. It's a pleasure to help spread the word about this hotel. It's located one block from Waikiki Beach. You can easily walk across the street, through the International Marketplace, and pop out on the other side. You'll be maybe 100 yards from the sand. Let me tell you this, too. Without exaggeration, the HGI has the very best shower I've ever had in a hotel room. Great pressure (REALLY GREAT!) and an adjustable height spray wand. There's a Target directly across the street from the hotel. Surprisingly, it is also fairly priced. So much so, I didn't even bother to take a trip to Walmart to stock up on my usual supplies. Target may have been a buck or two more, but not enough to worry about. There's also a well-stocked minimart just off the lobby. They have grab-and-go items and the usual convenience store fare. Let's talk transportation: You can get anywhere on the island by catching TheBus, Oahu's public transportation line, within a block of the hotel's front door. We took it to Pearl Harbor (45 minutes); Ala Moana shopping center/restaurants (20 minutes); to hike up Diamond Head (30 minutes); and to the airport for our trip home (1 hour). For $3 a ride or $35 unlimited rides for a week, TheBus is also a great value. We've stayed in several other hotels in Waikiki over the years, some right on the beach, some directly across from the beach. We'll never go back to those now that we've found the Hilton Garden Inn. Well done!
Perfect base camp for our family of four! Clean!!!!

The Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki was the perfect O’ahu hotel for our family! Our family of four (husband, 16 yo son, 14 yo daughter, myself) enjoyed our stay. Compared to other offerings in the area, we foun...d this hotel to be affordable enough that we got two connecting rooms allowing my husband and I to have a king bed and each kid to have a double bed. And having two bathrooms (between the two rooms) was great. Our rooms were nice and clean. The refrigerators were cold (I’ve seen a lot of posts for different hotels saying that the refrigerator wasn’t cold). Tina from housekeeping was WONDERFUL! She kept our rooms in good shape for us all week! We ran into her a few times throughout the week, and she is a kind and upbeat person! Thanks for adding to our week, Tina!!! The hotel offered several activities each day. We were busy with other plans most days so didn’t do a lot in the hotel. One morning my daughter and I did yoga with the hotel instructor, Phoenix. She was great! Our class had 6 with varied experience levels. My daughter and I had never done yoga before. Phoenix was able to help us while keeping the more experienced members of the class moving forward. It was fun! Thank you, Phoenix!! We visited on Spring Break week and never had long waits for the elevators. The lobby was nice and clean. A few mornings the lobby was packed with large groups of kids (I think a band contest one morning and robotics another morning). That was somewhat chaotic but cleared out quickly and was great the rest of the time. You have to pay to park everywhere in Waikiki, so just accept it and enjoy your vacation. The valet service was quick and easy to use! The hotel is just across the street from the Target store and many places to eat, which we found convenient. We got a few meals at the HoloHolo downstairs which was also very convenient and good. The pool seemed small to me for such a large hotel, but I did not see more than 10 people in it in at a time our eight night stay, so no worries there. The beach is just a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. And there is lots to see along the way (stores, surf boards, street performers—interesting walk!). Waikiki is BUSY! We spent most of our time on the north shore or windward side of the island using the Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki as our “base camp” for the week. It was perfect for us!
