You play an essential role in ensuring our guests have a positive experience with the delivery of connecting and local baggage, offloading and transporting baggage to appropriate carousels, operating and positioning all required ground equipment, and much more.

Once you've signed your offer letter, what happens next?
Approximately one week before your start date, you'll receive an email titled 'Welcome to WestJet (course title)' containing your credentials: employee number, username, and email address.

Welcome Aboard Orientation:
As a part of your onboarding, WestJet offers a program called Welcome Aboard. Welcome Aboard is a three-hour introduction to the mission, vision, values and culture of WestJet.
The class is designed to welcome and connect our new hires with WestJet in a virtual, interactive way. You will learn about where we’ve been, where we are, and more importantly the part you play in where we’re going.
You can expect an engaging virtual session, filled with media, activities and great discussion that will educate, motivate, and ignite their cultural spirit.

As a Ramp Service Agent (RSA), you'll be expected to deliver baggage, offload and load baggage, operate ground service equipment, basic maintenance checks and communicate with multiple teams in the operations.
Calgary Campus/Hangar Video Tour
Whether you will be working or training at the YYC campus, or working on the frontline, this video will take you through all the key spots and fun facts that will help familiarize you with our campus and set you up for sucess for your next visit or workday. In this video we explore the many unique features of our Fred Ring Building (minutes 0:00-05:45), Russ White Hangar (minutes 05:45-09:07) and Wide Body Hangar (Minutes 09:07-11:32).
Schedule
Ramp Service Agents could start as early as 3am and as late as 3am. Shifts are built around flight times.
- Shift work ranges from a minimum of 4 to 12 hours
- Part time hours must maintain 160 hours over 8 weeks.
- Fulltime hours must maintain 320 hours over 8 weeks.
- You will receive your schedule 8 weeks at a time.
Uniforms
Please review the full uniform policy here and you can order your uniform here; your username is your employee number and your password is your last name. For footware, reimbursement of $250 every 24 months for summer footwear and $250 every 24 months for winter footwear for Ramp Service Agents (RSA).
