The best Disney hotel

This hotel is 1000 times better than the Grand, which you can read about in my other review. The art/decor is absolutely incredible, it’s the cutest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Like everything else Pixar, ...every detail was mastered. From the food in the Great Maple, to the pianist that looks like he came right out of Soul (the movie), it was incredible. We stayed in a club level room, which gave us access to the Creator’s Club. They served breakfast, snacks and small bites through the day, for free. The fitness room was larger than most hotels and the Monsters Inc wall art was perfect. They had an indoor pop up mini golf, Putt Putt, but I think it’s only there for another month. That was a great way to spend the hot afternoon. The hotel room was perfect. Bed was comfy, shower was adjustable height, and the room was immaculate. The floors are wood, and they mop them when they service your room. The secret entrance to DCA is my favorite, you enter the park right next to Corndog Castle. If you want to enter Disneyland, you can ride the Monorail into Tomorrowland. The ONLY negative about this hotel is the elevator system. You select your floor from outside the elevator and it tells you which one to wait for, A,B,C or D. The system is flawed. I’m not sure if it’s by design or if it’s because children push multiple floors. You end up stopping on a lot of floors for no reason. Other guests also think they’re suppose to get in your elevator, but it’s going up and they’re going down. I think if they had a traditional elevator with the floor pad inside the car, it might be faster. We waited over 5 minutes once.
Awesome - highly recommend - would definitely book again.

Amazing theming, staff so helpful, our family room was spacious, perfect location to enjoy the Disney Parks and Downtown Disney. Very clean and has a fantastic Disney vibe. This is the cheapest of the thre...e Disney hotels but it was perfect for us.
Nice hotel, but too few elevators for the number of guests makes it undesirable

Clean and convenient, though expensive. There aren’t enough elevators for the number of guests, and you will often wait quite a while for a ride down to the lobby. We probably wouldn’t stay there again be...cause this was such a constant annoyance
Pleasantly Surprised!

We just spent 4 days at Disneyland with family. We stayed at Pixar Place and our daughter and son in law & children stayed at the Grand Californian. I had hoped to switch over to the GCH, but soon real...ized that we had made a great choice for our needs this trip: location and ease of entry into DL and to GCH and also to DDD. I requested a low floor room close to the GCH intersection. We bypassed the "infamous" elevators each morning and took the stairs right next to our room. The pool and splash pad area were under refurbishment. We had a lovely room and the check in process on the app was simple.Staff was friendly and professional. We did not eat at the hotel. In closing, it turned out to be a great choice because GCH was undergoing alot of refurbishments:Their private entrance into DCA, their largest pool, and a major refresh of rooms in a couple of wings. This affected the views.People choosing pool views and standard room views would pay alot of money, and then realize they would have obstructed views... I stayed at the GCH in December and definitely did not have all of those issues. We dined in GCH and even the character breakfast location and menu was affected. We also went to the GC Craftsman Bar.Several items were not available: french onion soup and creme brule. We chose the right hotel and had a great visit to our favorite park!

I've been staying at this hotel since it was the Pan Pacific! The elevators are always slow. Now that it's been renovated, here are my thoughts - it is definitely kid friendly. The rooms were updated in... a very cute way, but I am disappointed to see that the tubs were removed. Also, My room had a connecting room and the family next door was loud. I could hear everything! I stayed at the Pool Level Club. It's great to be able to go right to the pool from my room. I was surprised that I had to check in and get a wrist band just to sit in the hot tub. The moved the Bell desk so there's now a really nice sitting area in the lobby by the Sketch Pad. The elevators have a new "call" method, but doesn't really seem to speed up the elevators. I mean there's really only so much they can do. Two places were a disappointment to me. First, and I'm not sure if it's a change to all hotel club levels or just this one, the room is much larger but to me the food was sporadic and not always great choices. Also, I loved getting a bottle of water to start the day in the parks, but that's no longer offered. And I'm a big milk drinker, they no longer offer 2%, you can have Whole, Almond, or Oat. I had to go and buy milk whenever I wanted to eat in the lounge. Second - everything else seemed to get smaller. The downstairs shop still has the basics, but it's almost all geared to kids now, very little for adults. The Sketch Pad grab and go, feels more limited as well. All in all, great hotel for families with small children, but I think they are charging about $150/nite too much.
