In line with the airline’s previously announced strategic direction, WestJet’s summer schedule has successfully expanded domestic travel options across Canada with increased frequencies and options to travel from coast-to-coast, and everywhere in between. 

This summer, WestJet is taking big strides to bring its strategic growth plan to life, providing guests with extensive opportunities to seamlessly and affordably travel across Canada. Substantially strengthening Canadian connectivity through enhanced non-stop routes between Eastern and Western Canada, the airline has inaugurated four new routes between Eastern and Western Canada and restarted an additional four just in time for the busy summer travel season ahead. 

“By strengthening Canada’s east to west connectivity, we continue to further our commitment to delivering the flights Canadian communities need to thrive,” said Chris Avery, WestJet Vice President, Network Planning, Alliances and Commercial Development. “Our strengthened connectivity between Eastern and Western Canada will further enhance domestic travel options for the communities we serve and stimulate business and tourism opportunities across the country.”

As WestJet continues to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to fulfilling the diverse needs of Canadian travellers and ensuring the airline continues to provide friendly, reliable and affordable travel across its growing network. With strengthened domestic and transborder connectivity, this summer, WestJet has increased its service up to nearly 30 per cent in Calgary and 50 percent in Edmonton. 

The WestJet Group’s network out of Toronto Pearson International Airport also remains strong with the airport servicing up to 65 non-stop daily flights to points in Canada, Mexico, Latin America and US.

Additional highlights of WestJet’s summer schedule

Additionally, WestJet is enhancing its aviation gateway for business and leisure travel opportunities by further strengthening regional connectivity with the resumption of non-stop flights and increased frequencies in other communities such as:

  • 64 per cent increase in seat capacity to/from Regina

  • 46 per cent increase in seat capacity to/from Saskatoon

  • 42 per cent increase in seat capacity to/from Winnipeg

  • 13 per cent increase in seat capacity to/from Kelowna

  • 10 per cent increase in seat capacity to/from Vancouver
