Fabulous Fun Filled Family Holiday
Shanxy (Milton Keynes, United Kingdom) on May 09, 2024
Fabulous 2 week Family Holiday to celebrate 2 Birthdays. Staff were on the whole very friendly and efficient. The entertainment team led by Mary Anne were excellent Cafari, Reece & Nice and Easy Neil! The Carnival & Beach Party nights were superb. Food & Beverage: The Outhouse was great thank you Sophia. Topaz buffet food was Variable, our heroes: Arleen, Stacey Anne, Kai, Smoothie lady, Barrymore. Chef Pietro Italian disappointing very slow service 2 hours+ for 2 courses on 2 visits with inconsistent portion sizes. The Pineapple Grill and The Orchid excellent. Pelican Grill & Pool snack bar great choice & service. Bars Our holiday heroes: Maritza, Ashley, Sonia were the best mixologists. Negatives: poor bar stock management with numerous items regularly unavailable: Diet Coke, Sauvignon blanc, Spiced rum, Pina Colada mix, Golden rum. Recommend: Pink Panther Safari, Shirley Heights, Zip Line experience, Reef Riders Antigua. The rooms are in need of some TLC but spacious and functional. Biggest niggle was sunbed blocking by multiple other guests who would take loads of towels and block beds by pools and beach often not using both. Suggest a token system like other Caribbean hotels 1 towel per guest per day. This would also drastically reduce unecessary excessive laundry costs. Must also mention Adania @ Verandah who looked after us at Rasta Beach Grill.
Think hard before booking
Dewayne R on May 09, 2024
Think really hard about this place. As mentioned in other post. Add that $24 daily fee to the booking price, beach towels run out mid-morning, basic food items, like ketchup, coffee flavors, and basic mix drinks run out every day. I'm not exaggerating. They are severely understaffed so add if you stay a week, subtract a half day waiting in lines to be served or when seating for someone to bring you a glass of water. If I didn't know better you would think that the staff was trying to stick it to the owner by causing many of the guest to write negative reviews, and I never write reviews. But I had to this time. Buyer beware.
