Overview
Located beachfront on North Kaanapali Beach, on 38 tropical beachfront acres, 50 minutes from Kahului International airport. Offering spacious, studio, 1, 2, & 3 bedroom condos within 2 buildings and 3 acres of aquatic playground, 10 barbeque grills, hot tubs, waterslide, waterfall and fountains that allow for privacy and play.

Great value for the space!

This was our 2nd time staying at Honua Kai and it's definitely one of our favorite spots to stay in all of Hawaii. Especially if you are traveling as a family and need that extra space. They have great pools and hot tubs. A really nice beach area. Beautiful grounds that are well maintained. There's really not much to dislike about this place. Couple things to keep in mind: -There are several ways to book at Honua Kai. Whether it be VRBO or AirBNB, directly through the resort, etc. We booked ours through mauiresortrentals.com. Depending on your needs, booking this way can save you some fees that you get with VRBO or AirBNB. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit #246 and we had great ocean and mountain views. The room was close to an elevator and a side entrance that was easy to get to and from our room and the pools/beach. -Dukes is super overrated and expensive. Their portions are so small compared to other popular food spots. Especially dinner. However, the views and atmosphere are solid. There's live music often. We enjoyed eating breakfast here, but the dinner wasn't good. Make reservations if you plan on having dinner here way in advance, it's very busy and popular during that time. I would skip it and go somewhere else. So many better restaurants out there that are worth the money. Overall we would definitely recommend staying here and plan to stay again sometime in the future!
