This was our fourth trip to the DR but our first to Dreams Onyx. Other stays were at Secrets and Now Larimar, so that will play into our comparison. Do not fear this resort because of having children here. We actually enjoyed watching families having fun and were never bothered at all. Days were admittedly spent at Prefered areas. We are UVC members and did receive an upgraded room (thank you Stephanie- our awesome UVC rep) and had a pool view room on second floor building #6 room 6241. Cudos to our housekeeping staff as our room was just beautiful and meticulously kept. We did have a butler - Henry who was so attentive and helpful. We are far from needy people but he went out of his way to check on us and offer assistance to enhance our vacation. Bar and service staff were awesome as we have come to expect from Dominican people. There were several that went above our expectations and became friends. Domingo in the preferred club lobby was so nice and was our go to for our first Presidente of the day. Christopher in the theater/sports bar was just the best and we has some great conversations over Netflix shows. Bar tenders (as usual) were our best friends. At the beach/ barefoot grill bar Simon was terrific- he spoke an unknown language in a voice like micky mouse but if you listened closely, would just Crack up....crazy fun. One of the beach servers was also super nice and attentive- thank you Anyl for carrying all those beers. Preferred swim up bar provided great times and such good service. Wester was a character that you just wanted to see daily and interact with. He was such a smoozer! Carlos was there and always kept a cold one ready. Javier kept the party going even during the rain. Our best restaurant friends, I don't have there names as they wore aprons - coffee service staff . They worked the Preferred breakfast and various places for dinner. I so hope management can identify them as they were terrific. Onto the resort. Beautifully landscaped, clean and well kept, beautiful pools, awesome gathering areas, wonderful rooms, superb restaurants.......really can't say enough about the facilities. We ate at the buffet, the Bluewater grill, cin cin , Mercury's, capers, and Spice. All were good but we had to eat twice at Capers for incredible Italian. Spice offered the best hibachi experience. Our only "but" was the fact that there was nearly no options for outdoor dining and zero ocean view . Bluewater offered a few tables outside with a wo
