Took great care of us!

It’s a beautiful facility and we had an amazing room with a gorgeous view of the ocean. The best part was meeting our two butlers, Indira and Saul. They took such good care of us! I have a gluten allergy and every restaurant that we went to accommodated my special dietary needs. Everywhere we looked, people were working very hard! Everyone was friendly, and we appreciate the fact that they could speak English!
El Cid - very limited services

Overall impression is they are tethering on the brink of bankruptcy, they cut back on basic services and selections everywhere. Looks only a few rooms are occupied. Seems they seriously reduced even the restaurant services, very limited chances to get in. Probably not enough cooks, waiters etc. They prefer you to line you up at the buffet style feeding places. Drinks are a very limited selection of local brands. You have to pay $50 a day extra on top of the “all inclusive” to have some selection. Location is great. Room is small, average hotel room size. Small balcony, they can not put a lawnchair in there, so you have to sit on hard metal chairs. If you need hand moisturizer, bring some as they charge $50 USD a day for it. Or they advise you to buy it value priced at the souvenir shop. In the last 60+ years I have never seen such a “cheap” motel. So far I got hand moisturizers everywhere else - so I did not bring much. With the water and sun i need a lot… Restaurants are amazing, but need a lot of luck to be able to book one. They tell you they are all sold out, while they are running only a few days a week and only at about 20% capacity. They are not allowed to accept you without a reservation, even if they are 10% full. Seems like a huge scam There is a coffee machine in the room but have to call guest services if you also want coffee - or bring your own. Fridge is loaded with sodas, have to call for beer. One local brand, no selection. They play the usual resort tricks, they put you in the worst room with double beds right beside the loud night club. So if you would like some rest you have to pay to be moved into a quieter area. They throttle the internet, bring down the service to 3G or LTE if you are lucky - so it is imposible to use it from r any browsing. They force you to buy proper WiFi service, separate one for each device. We have 5 devices (x$78). You have to purchase a membership to have a shuttle to the airport, without that you have to use overpriced taxis. Feels like nickel-and-dimed all around.
