United States service disruptions plan

As part of our commitment to providing a great guest experience, we’ve developed a service plan that meets the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) service disruption regulations (14 CFR Parts 259, 260, 262, and 399). This guest service plan applies to both WestJet and WestJet Encore-operated flights for U.S.-bound and U.S.-connecting itineraries.

Should you incur out-of-pocket expenses for a flight delay or cancellation within our control, you may submit a request to WestJet for reimbursement.

Additionally, if your flight was delayed or canceled and you’re flying from, to, or within Canada, you may also be eligible for the Air Passenger Protection Regulations (APPR). For more details, please refer to our APPR page for information on eligibility and claims.

WestJet must provide prompt notifications to guests affected by a cancelled or significantly changed flight regarding their right to a refund and any related policies.
