Review of beach tower and main tower rooms
Amanda H on Mar 27, 2025
I was a bit unsure about the hotel after reading some of the reviews, however I was not displeased with the stay and would come back again next time I return to Waikiki. The hotel is in a great location an...d right across the road from the beach. We booked a Ocean view King room and on check in were appointed a twin bed interconnecting room overlooking Diamond Head that had ocean views of that side of the hotel . A thing to note about this resort is that there are 2 accommodation towers, which are beachfront and the second one back from the beach is the main tower . The room we got was in the main tower and was quite old and the hallways do smell musty and so did our room however the view was good. The room was clean and has been modernised but the bathroom was very small and poky and old and the A/C was old and loud and was on the floor like a wall heater. The room assigned was also an interconnecting room with the internal door locked. We could literally hear the people in the room next door sneeze and flush their toilet through the night which was quite annoying. On the second day I went to reception to enquire why our room had twin beds and was an interconnecting room and they advised that they had put us in the incorrect room type. We were then transferred to the beach tower in a king ocean room which did not have a smell, had a more modern A/C system and even a heated toilet seat. It was definitely more modern and updated then the room in the main tower however we lost the view of diamond head and only had a partial ocean view. All in all I would come back and stay again at the hotel but would make sure I would stay in the beachfront tower. We were on level 13. The resort and amenities are fantastic and all the staff were very nice and helpful. We had the package that included the breakfast in the longboard club and we found this to be good value for money. It opens every morning at 6am so it worked out well as most of our tours started around 7am-730am giving us time to eat beforehand. We ate once at the resort at Morimoto which is an Asian restaurant and we enjoyed our dinner, even though it was very expensive but worth it for a nice dinner or celebration. There are some great places to eat close by to the resort that we thoroughly enjoyed that had a good atmosphere and they were Lulu's and Tiki Bar and grill. If you want to hire the beach chairs and umbrellas, then you need to walk down the main street to the left out the front of Tiki's to reserve the chairs with your daily credits. All in all we found the location great and that side of the beach a little less crowded.
Don't stay here!

The bathrooms have black mold around the toilets. When reported the hotel did nothing to compensate or fix the issue. The ocean view rooms are nice but the street noise is horrible & the sun makes the pat...io unusable as it is very hot. The pool deck will burn your children’s feet going form one side to the other during mid day. Beds & pilows not comfortable.
