Awesome great value for your money. Friendly staff, comfortable bed. The food was delicious. From our arrival the experience started off great even though we were early and our room wasn’t ready. The experience only got better as we explore the property and activities.

This was our 7th trip to Jamaica and we wanted an adults only resort so we chose the Jewel. Overall we were pleased with our stay but to get to the facts: Staff: Absolutely fantastic. From the time we arrived the entire staff was a joy to interact with. Everyone was so pleasant, helpful and always greeted you with a smile and friendly hello. In most resorts we have stayed in over the years you will always find a few negative staff ( usually front desk, or bar staff ) but not here. Just great people. Grounds: The resort has a easy to navigate layout with plenty of palm trees, beautiful gardens and well thought out relaxing areas. Beach: We spent most of our time at the quite beach. Its smaller the the main beach but as the name suggests a great place to relax. A bar, snack bar, washroom and a pool are all with a 30 second walk. The beach was well maintained and plenty of shade and sunbeds. Lifeguards are on duty all day. Food: Excellent variety and plenty of it. We mostly ate at the buffet which offered a good selection of food and deserts to chose from and each meal time the choices were always a little different. The snack bar by the quite beach offered a nice selection of hot food and was very tasty. You don't need to make reservations for any of the specialty restaurants except the Jade Samurai, which we did try and enjoyed the food and the chief. The only down side about the rest of the restaurants not needing reservations is you can expect a line up and a long wait time. We wanted to go to the Moonstone and got there just ahead of its opening but were told even then our wait would be 45 minutes ( no thanks ). Drinks: Jewel has several bars located though out the resort. Selections were good and practically no wait times. There's also a coffee shop located by the main pool with an excellent selection of coffees to choose from. Rooms: No complaints. Spacious rooms, well decorated and the bed was comfortable. The mini bar is restocked daily. Only fault is the small patio and the sliding doors. ( The patio doors were very hard to open and close ). Entertainment: This is my only negative comment - The location of the main stage. Its located in the buffet area so when the shows are going on at night there's other guests trying to eat there dinners at the same time. I spoke with several other guests and they also felt this was unusual and discouraged people from coming in to enjoy the shows. The shows themselves were ok mostly just singing. I don't usually do this but a special shout out to two of the most outstanding staff we met during our stay. First Raymond at the Aquamarina Beach Bar. Always laughing, ensuring you were having a great time and cared about all the guests. Second was Janice at the Emerald Lagoon Swim Up Bar. A true lady who treated you as if she knew you for years. Always friendly. Overall if your looking for a relaxing vacation with great staff, beautiful grounds and good food then this would be an excellent choice.
