The Verandah Antigua is a luxury style resort is situated on 30 spectacular waterfront acres, hidden away on the untouched north-east coast of Antigua. It lies adjacent to a designated National Park and incorporates a powered soft white sand beach and crystal clear bay perfect for swimming. The historical Devils Bridge is only a brief walk away whilst uninhabited nature sanctuaries of Green Island and Bird Island are only a boat ride away.

Nice resort but with flaws

It’s a shame that a beautiful resort is really not run very well. It seemed that no matter where we were they were very under staffed. One day we went for lunch at 1pm and didn’t get any of our food till 3...pm. It was also frustrating not being able to get reservations for restaurants till the third day. They have a nice pizza restaurant but it takes over an hour to get a pie. The pool bar is not right by the pool and usually only had one bartender so if someone had a big order you could wait up to 30 minutes. The food was good for the most part, though it seemed best to stick to seafood. As far as the grounds the resort is very well kept. Lush plants, manicured grass, great pool and nice beaches. There is a coffee shop with pastries that is open late. The entertainment was nice, they had some great bands, karaoke and a beach party with a band. The resort is very spread out and hilly. So there were times you needed to call to be picked up by a golf cart. The resort is definitely not ADA compliant with many places with steps. Our group did have a nice time but I would not go back again.

I would recommend a visit here. The scenery from the Sails and Tails and pizza restaurant was really beautiful and so were the grounds. The porters were happy to take you around in the golf carts - very fu...n. The pool bar was renovated. The main pool was nice with cabana areas - never crowded. The small pools around property were virtually empty. The main beach always had chairs. DO hold onto your clean towels for next day. There are many stairs down to the beach but the view as you head down is wonderful. The floating tube, water sports, sunset at main beach were great. There was more entertainment than expected, with DJ or music every evening at the pool bar. The sports bar was nice inside. They have 2 person cubbies that looked so cute for a couple. The cocktails were surprisingly good. Not really a party scene there, but music playing and appetizers on menu. Most of the staff was very nice, though some service slow as others state. Dinner could get very dragged out so if this is an issue for you, skip the first course. Rasta beach was not really swimmable but pretty. I would skip lunch at the Rasta beach restaurant. Just go for a drink and a chat. This was our first stop upon arrival and we were not thrilled with the food quality. In general, all of the indoor restaurants were pretty good but lacked some ambiance - all connected in a single building and look similar. The rooms are 'renovated' but just ok. They were spacious. Views of waterfront (11 on the map) were not really waterfront from my experience. 21 area may be better in that room category. If you can, charter the Calypso Cat - best part of trip. I would definitely return here for the price point, all-inclusive factor, and convenience of travel.
