Loved our staycation!

We loved our day stay here through Resort Pass! We had a beautiful cabana and the team was great. Kevin the manager took especially great care of our crew. The pool atmosphere was all all age inclusive but... quiet and very relaxing. Love a quick trip to the desert to soak up the sun. We will be back!!

I normally love the DoubleTree experience but this one does not measure up to its usual standards. And honestly, the competition in the area is too intense to settle. We were in town for the PNB Paribas t...ennis tournament so prices were already massively inflated by that and the snowbird season. Coachella Valley never misses an opportunity to gouge the public on hotel prices. Anyway, this facility had rooms available at sort of “reasonable” prices. The issues started on check in. We were early by 2.5 hours and that’s on us. We notified the kids at the front desk we were on property and went to the bar to wait. And wait. We were not the only early arrivals but we did seem to be the last ones left. After 2 hours we went to check and nobody really cared about anything except what the app said, which was the room was not ready. Finally, an older gentleman offered to go check with housekeeping. Turns out the room was ready, but we had been denied check in because they wanted to change out a shower curtain. A shower curtain. Another 45 minutes of waiting at least got us cookies and finally a room. Older facility and I get that, but the electrical had literally been MacGyvered together…panel off and leaning against the wall and a power strip full of plugs run from under a bed. Still at least 1/2 the plugs in the room did not work and a few sent our iPhones into battery seizures, lights flashing and all. We could have called maintenance but really we were not up for another stint in the bar if they even had an empty room to move us to. We joined the MacGyver movement and made it work but we will not be staying there again. On the plus side, the staff in the bar and small restaurant were very nice and efficient. The short rib dish (we ordered that twice!) was delicious, as was the coffee. Parking is easy and plentiful. My favorite part were the ducks and geese that were our neighbors. I’m sorry we didn’t get the name of the man who finally got us into our room. The region has a lot going for it and I live close enough to make the trip out and back in a day but it’s fun to be able to stay and take advantage of the pool and local restaurants. We’ve been trying out a few hotels over the last several months but this one is off the list of possibilities for a return visit. I’m gonna miss the water fowl and the cookies but so be it.
