Not luxurious

Jill070 (Victoria, Canada) on Dec 15, 2024

Location is nice, right on a beautiful beach. Resort is old and has few amenities: two electric outlets, infrequent hot water, weak internet signal and disappointing food. There is a town right by the resort so there is lots of contact with Mexican people and they are so lovely.

Adults trip

982terah (Brandon, Canada) on Dec 13, 2024

The hotel was very clean, the buffet was good. We were surprised to have wifi in our room and a mini fridge. We stayed in building 4 by the adults only pool. The hotel is getting very dated but we did see them doing lots of repairs. This is not the type of resort I’m used to staying at therefore I probably wouldn’t go back but we definitely got our moneys worth being a very great deal. We loved the area, had fantastic weather and service. Was glad we took an extension cord and should have brought my own pillow. If u want a good deal, service and weather this is the place. The adults pool was so quiet every day. We were able to get drinks quick at the bar right there and they had good coffee in the morning. Our air conditioning worked great thank goodness. We talked to other people at the sister resorts and their rooms were more updated but the pools were packed with kids and the food wasn’t good. So keep that in mind when booking.

Best All Inclusive in Riñcon de Guayabitos.

VancouverLil (Langley, Canada) on Nov 29, 2024

We just returned from a delightful but short stay at the Decameron Los Cocos. We have stayed here many times in the past and have enjoyed each time. We stayed in the adults section, Cocos 4. Our room was the one of the most spacious I have ever seen. Daily service ensured that our room was always fresh. The food for an all-inclusive was plentiful, varied and very delicious. The grounds are beautiful and the staff are very friendly. Management is very efficient and you can tell they take great pride not only in the staff, but the hotel amenities as well. The barmen are second to none. I've been on cruises in the past and these gentlemen and ladies are more than equal to the 6 star status. Most of all, this place isn't stuffy. Everything is casual and relaxed and you feel like you have not a care in the world. The economic price makes this hotel a great fit for families with children. We saw many in Cocos 1,2,and 5. The Decameron is steps away from the village of Riñcon de Guayabitos and it is easy to explore from the comfort of the hotel. The Decameron Los Cocos is, in my opinion, the best all inclusive in Riñcon de Guayabitos. I can't wait to go back!

Nightmare!!

Stephanie R on Nov 14, 2024

I will not be returning here ever again!! The room we were given was disgusting! Bathroom leaks and moldy walls from AC leaking inside the closet. Room wasn’t even cleaned right, giant hairball that on the floor that was there our entire stay, electrical outlet in the restroom did not work properly and you have to choose between the tv and mini fridge because there’s only one power outlet. The pillows were so uncomfortable, felt like you were sleeping on cardboard boxes. The food was not great, I wish I could get my money back. STAY AWAY!! Save your money this place is not worth it.

A gift to those who love the true feeling of Mexico!

Spent a week at the Decameron Los Cocos and this place still amazes us! We were there about 10 years ago and were a little curious/nervous about how it might have changed (good or bad)! But to our most pleasant surprise it was as fantastic as ever! Stayed in 4306 which is up on the hill and had a wonderful view of the ocean. The ac was incredibly quiet, the room was super comfortable and although this building is a little dated, it was everything we wanted and more! The beds were a touch firm but comfortable, great pillows if you like large and thick (brought my own so I was happy!) and it was super clean and comfortable. Not a lot of hot water till later in the day but that was no problem for a shower in the afternoon! Lots of steps too with no elevator but not a problem if you're mobile. There is a really nice pool and bar there too so it's very quiet, but there is road noise at night and don't be surprised when the roosters crow early in the morning! Not a problem for us! Can't say enough about the service and hospitality at the Los Cocos! Andrea went way out or her way to make sure we knew about our departure time and even ran after us to give us the update, she was incredible! The beer and the wine were super, the mixed drinks were fine (typical of an all inclusive really) and there were only a few times where you had to wait for a few minutes because of longer lines at times in the day...no big deal! For my wife and I we were more than happy with the food and service in the main buffet area! A big shout out to Martinanio (sorry might have spelt his name wrong...sorry buddy!), Noel was excellent and Laura was always wonderful with service and a huge smile! Tried an al a carte but we much prefer buffets since you can pick what you want...it was fine though. Mexican night was our favorite! Wonderful service, super friendly staff and always very clean!! They do have bikes too (went twice!) for free and although they are not top notch they were super fun! We did try the La Marina and the Isla Coral throughout the week for snacks/lunch and dinner since they were also part of the all inclusive package, so three hotels in one! You could walk the beach, stop in for a beer and a snack and them move on the the next one...great fun! Still, all in all, the Decameron Los Cocos will remain our favorite! The beach is always active and the water is super warm and great for kids cause its quite shallow. But we must say, Rincon De Guayabitos is REAL Mexico! This is not PV, Cancun or any of the other tourist spots we've been to on many occasions. Rincon is the most traditional flavor of Mexico. The people of Rincon are incredibly friendly, open and willing to share their love of their community. I feel so welcomed in their world and safe. I encourage anyone to give this area of Mexico (and Los Cocos of course) a try if you really want to taste the flavor and friendliness of such a beautiful culture! But if you're looking for the fling, bling and 5 star fanciness of the top resorts then this may not be the place for you. But just once I encourage anyone to give it a try, really. I could go on but suffice it to say, we will definitely go back to Rincon, Los Cocos and the realness of this part of Mexico! In our world this is Mexico 5 star!
