No hesitation to return to this brilliant Hotel! ??
ldainty101089 (Shrewsbury, United Kingdom) on Jul 09, 2024
We booked fairly last minute as decided to join some family and friends who had organised a return trip some months prior - Due to this, we just booked in at the same hotel and didn't look at other options... So pleased we ended up at The Club! The staff are all absolutely delightful - From the Barmen to the Egg Lady and everyone in between - Caroline (the Manageress) was most helpful with any questions we had and obviously has a great team behind her. The location couldn't be more idyllic, a few steps away from Sandy lane (with fabulous water to go snorkeling in), whilst also having the benefit of sun loungers overlooking the sea, and a cocktail never far away! The food I genuinely think is the best I've had at any AI. A la carte options (between the two restaurants) available for each of the 7 nights we stayed - Varied, and fresh. The cocktail list was extensive - We worked our way through most of them, and some that weren't even on the menu ?? Although, Mount Gay and coke was a particular favourite... When in Barbados...!! ??????? We will be back as soon as we can ??
Second time visit - mixed feelings
Lovemyho (Leeds, United Kingdom) on Jul 04, 2024
This was our second visit to The Club - the other being around 10 years ago. Some lovely upgrades to the outside furniture &, on the face of it, not much change from our wonderful holiday last time. We enjoyed the a la carte evening meals & there was always plenty of choice at breakfast. Lunches felt a bit repetitive. One of our favourite things was to walk down the steps to the Sandy Lane beach & snorkel out to the rocks around 5pm each day. So peaceful & plenty of different fish to see. Michael at the watersports hut organised a boat trip for us & we got to swim with turtles & stingrays - beautiful. A couple of things that made our holiday not as great as last time. On our previous visit it was quiet & relaxing with a generally older clientele. This time, both weekends of our stay, large & very noisy parties descended for the weekend, changing the whole feel of the place. Whooping, hollering, drunk people in the pool sent us away from this area & towards the beach. When we checked in we hadn’t realised that our room (131) had a door - albeit locked - connecting to another room. We certainly realised this a few days in when our neighbours arrived. Please avoid this room as we could hear almost every word they were saying. The Club now seems to have a bit of a mixed identity for us. Ending on a positive note - most staff encountered were lovely. Some a little quiet/reserved, even when trying to engage with them but always pleasant & polite.
