Overall a pleasant stay

FarAway20002492126 on Jul 17, 2024

We had a nice room with a nice view. The food was decent and so was the service. The young woman with space buns who served us at breakfast and lunch most days was very smiley and friendly and Shaun at the bar who worked evenings was also very friendly and clearly the most experienced bar staff there. He was quick to serve and always asked how we were and how our day had been. Some of the other staff in the restaurant and bar are not worth mentioning. The pool needs a revamp and certainly was not cleaned properly or as much as it should have been. Overall we had a pleasant experience. If you choose a 3* hotel then expect a 3* experience.

Amazing holiday for a 3* hotel

Louise L on Jul 12, 2024

Had a great time at this hotel. Staff were all friendly and helpful especially the bar staff, Shaun in particular always served with a smile, was friendly and polite and always served quickly. The lady that worked the bar in the mornings was also lovely. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the fact that no water aerobic was taking place when advertised.

Get what you pay for more like a 2 star than 3 wouldnt go back

markbS1095FV on Jun 24, 2024

Read a lot of mixed reviews went with open mind The hotel is dated- more like a 2 star than a 3 star . staff are often rude, and awkward or ignore you entirely, Food was Plain and with little choice, no labels on food for people with allergies Dinning area didn’t look clean, birds flying about ,even had crab walk over my foot while in the restaurant . Soft drinks severed at the bar out off small bottles were put in small beakers like we were being rationed ,and didn’t like it when asked for a bigger glass. Afternoon tea is a joke.... paste sandwiches, cookie and dry cake and no other snack options outside meal times The the room, showed signs of neglect, with worn-out furnishings, tired bathroom, curtains which didn’t close right across patio doors {so had to use a blanket to cover the gap} no tea coffee facilities in room and had to keep asking for bottled water daily . The lack of cleanliness in the accommodations further contributed to a subpar experience. Towels Beach towels are available for a rather large deposit compared to other hotels, Good location for beach but nothing else around area outside hotel Could be tight for someone in a mobility scooter or wheelchair in places There are steps to access the beach wouldn't go back

Lovely hotel!

welshness24 (Wales) on Jun 02, 2024

Ok so id seen a real mixed bag of reviews about this hotel but I will say its safe to say it's actually a lovely little hotel. Your not paying for sandals so your not going to get it, so don't complain. Overall the hotel was lovely, it was clean and looked after. Our room was a great size and had a lovely view. The pool was perfect sized with shallow end for children or a dip to cool off with a deeper end for dunking and a nice swim. The staff were lovely and welcoming, from experience you will always get a few who don't want to be there, there were maybe 2 or 3(worst had to be a lady who used to be on grill for bbq or making omlettes, quite rude) but the rest of them were lovely and would always greet you and ask how you are. Favourites were a young guy in the restaurant who was always laughing and smiling and a lady who would always make a fuss of my niece. If you meet the maintenance guy dwayne, he's fab! Didn't need him but was always happy, smiling and singing walking around and is too funny!. The downfalls I would say is that the hotel is a bit out of the way so you need to get a bus or taxi to alot of places, but the local buses make this easy to do and explore the island, perfectly safe to do so. The beach is lovely, but the sea can be a bit rough. However, you can't really fault the hotel for that, it's out of their control. There are plenty of other beautiful beaches to visit so it's not an issue and it's still beautiful to walk, grab a sunbed, dip your feet and take pictures of. Food is nice and always found something to eat and it was tasty. It could do with a bit more variation and not so much carbs as I felt I lived on pasta, rice, bread and chips. Would love to see more fruit all day not just breakfast. Entertainment overall was good, just a few nights were flat or nothing on ,so unless you go out for the evening you end up having early nights. While there are some things that could be improved, i really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend. It's a lovely little hotel

Potential to be better

I want to bring this to your attention here instead of trip advisor because we could only fix things if we know about it. Upon arriving at hotel, the front desk agent(Debroh) who checked us in was accommodating. However got the room the first that hit me was a moldy and musky smell. I tried to get some rest but could not because of the mold all over. While walking through the room the curtains was full of mold. The pillows on the beds had mold, the bed skiting had mold. Bathroom walls under sink had mold. I went down to the front desk and spoke to Debroh, she sent housekeeping. I went back to room to show them where everything was. The person incharge said to leave till they finished. The response time for someone to come clean the room was quick however no one got back to us to inform us that the room was ready. Since I could not be in the room I went down by the pool while waiting for afternoon tea. The finger food options was nice however the tea was very cold. It seems also as though you have to beg for information as to what your all inclusive plan includes. To go to the alacart restaurant u must make a reservation but the leader said i dont need to see the menu in order to make a reservation. I still made reservation but the restaurant never opened. Being in the caribbean i understand the laid back or relaxed way of doing things. The hotel has a very nice view however lack customer service badly. On to the dinner. The buffet restaurant was a cool spot with sea breeze. The rice, vegetables like most items on the buffet was over cooked. The jerk chicken although dry was very tasty. My wife had the curry beef and said it was also very tasty. Saturday night dinner. BBQ Night. Rice was salty, came in about 8:30pm. Pasta salad had bacon in it so I could not eat it. I tried fries but it was cold. I asked and was told a fresh batch was coming out shortly so I ordered meat while i wait. but. Went back again nothing, fresh fries came out one of the leaders on the floor informed me about it. Went to get fries and chicken but no chef. After about 20 mins again i ask if the chef is coming back. The chef then comes out saying it was there but i never came back. Dining experience again was a disappointment. The entertainment however was good. Mother's day breakfast was by far the worse, little to no options at all. I think I end up eating bread and scramble eggs, Because of such i end up having lunch at hotel which was not a bad selection however got sick. End up not doing dinner on that special night because of feeling sick in stomach. Had no hot water for the duration of the stay except for when i was taking my last shower to leave the hotel. Phone never worked in room. Some friends we met on the island called and left messages that we never got it. The internet was also very bad so end up having to buy a sim card. Fridge made noise in between the night causing me to not get a full night rest. Speaking to other guest at resort also it is said that the hotel lacks customer service. While eating mothers day lunch the server came and took my plate as soon i was about to put the last piece of chicken in my mouth. You have to get up from dining to walk out by the bar to get you own drinks, while food was on the table getting cold. Imagine I was feeling upset after having lunch for the first time and could not get a bottle of soda water to take away. Your online quote about whatever You're craving, whenever hunger strikes is false advertising. Still waiting for the other on-site restaurants option to dine. The most important thing is to communicate the information with guest. The hotel is a nice place to relax and get away, but remove the all inclusive plan until service gets better. This is from someone in the hospitality industry.
