Beach front location!

Amazing location.. right on the beach. Lovely views of the sea, Oistins and the rest of the coast. Staff very friendly. Rooms and general areas need renovating. Not enough outdoor seating when hotel is at full capacity. Food ok, always found something to eat, for both carnivores and vegetarians. One of the cheaper hotels and so you get what you pay for. Would return.
Crummy Hotel. Stay Elsewhere!!!

Stayed here for 10 Nights in November and to be quite frank I wish we hadn’t. What a Rotten hotel. We arrived off a long flight to the hotel where we wasn’t even greeted with a welcome drink let alone a smile. After a third attempt to pay the holiday tax it finally went through, not sure if the issues was my card or the receptionist nails that were too long to operate the touch screen on the card device. We were then told here’s your room number bye. No offer of assistance in finding our room or any offer with help with our long haul cases. GREAT start. Long story short. Rubbish showers that are so old with mouldy old tiles, and a nozzle head that sprays in all sorts of directions. The showers take an age to get warm and then when they finally do reach scolding it switches to cold water. Scolding hot or freezing. No inbetween. The plug hole has no guard and leaves a golf ball size gap risking losing earrings, contact lenses and any Items that may come loose when washing or even your tooth brush head. Let alone wanting to rinse your clothes. Breakfast lunch and dinner served in the same restaurant - tedious. Not to mention a waitress/manager with brown glasses (only staff member without a name badge) and a light blue top muttering and shouting to herself at the drinks table about the mess guests make or how spoons haven’t been put right. Not what I want to listen to while I eat my breakfast. Lack of choice on the food department, that’s when the food is replenished. Serval food stands run empty without being monitored. I have never stayed at an all inclusive hotel before where you have to get your own soft / alcoholic drinks during lunch and dinner. The waiting staff only pour you water (if you’re lucky) and collect dirty plates. The wine is again constantly running empty and warm bottles of coke and sprite are the only choice of soft drinks in the restaurant. There is only 1 bar that has one member of staff serving at nighttime, it takes ages to get served as he also needs to collect the glasses clean them and serve. Be prepared everything comes in a plastic cup, you are not even able to get a glass for wine with meals. It is shocking. That said the wine is disgusting, I’ve had better £3 bottles from Tescos. The pool looks filthy and is tiny. The hotel overall is just disappointing. We came with low expectations of this hotel following some of the other reviews we had read, but the hotel is more diabolical than we could have imagined. Yes the hotel is cheap and cheerful but that doesn’t excuse poor customer service. The WiFi is pretty much non existent especially at peak times of the day, morning lunch and evening time. You can barely load webpages. We asked 3 times for a kettle and I was told we will see what we have available the next day by reception staff. Day 6 and after another complaint one was placed in our room. Entertainment rubbish apart from Mickey D - you never know if there’s going to be any. The hotel was painted years ago and the pictures still show it as PINK!! It’s not - it’s a filthy beige like the lampshades in the room.
Room with no view

We visited this hotel three years ago and loved it, sadly, this time, we were given room 212 which has possibly the worst view, if you could call it that. The hotel could do with an update. The reception staff were indifferent and seemed inexperienced. The few sunbeds were constantly reserved by selfish people who spent all day on the beach or at the cricket. Apart from that, the rest of the staff at the bar and restaurants were friendly. We met lots of lovely people and had a great time
Lovely vacation week

A great stay. We enjoyed a lot. Great beach, pool, meals, friendly staff and a great General Manager. Tks a lot also to Security André Blackman who was very helpful. Meals are super because they have a super Chef. Hope to return soon. Also the gift shop has many useful and lovely things, including souvenirs. Pool is very big. They have many activities as DJ, singers, walks to Oistins, etc. All is very clean.
Sadly not what I expected even with relatively low expectations

We are in the last few days of our much anticipated holiday here in Barbados. I wasn’t going to write a review and just put it down to bad judgement, but having spoken to some new arrivals today I though I would just to make sure anyone else booking fully understands what they’re booking here at Barbados Beach Club. The first thing to say is that the location, beach etc is lovely. You can walk out safely to nearby places and the locals are friendly too. Now the hotel… I do realise that I don’t book the most expensive accommodation but it certainly wasn’t the cheapest. Having booked superior rooms, we found ourselves at the back of the hotel with a very limited sea view. In hindsight I wish I’d asked to move but it’s too late now really. The first three days we had no hot water and despite us reporting it repeatedly not much was done - certainly no offer to move us or anything. I don’t want to make a fuss so we left it. The rooms are old. They’re very clean and the housekeeping team are fabulous. However loose wiring, plugs that don’t work, light switches that down work, safe buttons don’t work, balcony door lock sketchy, toilet doesn’t flush properly sometime and you have to open the cistern and fix it (if you know how). The staff are mixed to say the least. The restaurant manager lady seemed to take a dislike to us immediately and told us off the first day for not understanding our question about how many people per room. We thought it was funny the first few days but now it’s grating and she’s just plain rude. The reception staff are pretty useless. Some don’t seem to have a clue about the apparent shuttle to town that we never managed to get on, how to book the other restaurant so we never managed to, or how to get things fixed, they all seem to be covering rather than actual staff who know what’s happening. The main bar man is dead pan and clearly hates his job. The pictures used to sell the hotel ARE NOT REPRESENTATIVE of the reality. They even appear photoshopped maybe looking at them now. There is one pool with only 12 sun beds around it. The others are tucked around the side where no one wants to be as there’s nothing there. The chairs in the bar are the cheapest outdoor plastic chairs and are so uncomfortable. Bring a towel to sit on if you’re going to be on one of those all day as sun-beds go early as you’d imagine. Also expect to sit and passive smoke as there doesn’t seem to be any rules in the small sun lounger area. The food it actually nice. The serving staff are mostly very pleasant. The afternoon tea lady is also rude and smacked my son’s hand for taking a sandwich off the plate she held out to him and told ‘don’t touch the food’. The beach is beautiful. It’s a little choppy this side of the island but we went in to swim most days and walked around to other beaches that were more secluded on windy days. The beach chair man is illusive but helpful and puts chairs and umbrellas out for you. You can borrow kayaks and boogie boards too. When it’s busy enough (well when there seemed to be more people around) they put on some entertainment like singers and dj. This was ok. I feel disappointed which is a shame. I don’t have hugely high standards and I’d set my expectations to what I felt we’d paid for. We saved up for this and it’s fallen quite short of what I’d hoped which makes me feel quite sad, especially as I booked it for us all. The ridiculous thing is most of the issues are down to poor management and lax/grumpy staff, such a pity.
