Fantastic property! Wonderful staff. Beautiful room with fireplace and lovely balcony. We saw several Elk right by the property, which was fun. Downtown Banff is absolutely wonderful and well worth spendin...g time in. Would return to this hotel!

The situation is lovely and the staff great but the room we were allocated were well below 4 star. Room fireplace very smelly and toilet difficult to flush until eventually it started leaking which we info...rmed the staff about in the morning but we were left to walk into a soaking wet carpet having to walk to reception 11 pm in stocking feet for us to be moved and no warning on the door ref this and no phone call earlier in the day asking if we were ok for them to move us

Very disappointed. On the positive side, the staff are really friendly and helpful and the restaurant serves brilliant food. Things they can do better: 1. The site is scruffy and there are building mat...erials visible and laid around. The drive is potholed and badly maintained. 2. Constant noise from the room above as people moved about!, including hearing people using the loo. 3. Bar service incredibly slow 4. Had a room with a log fireplace but you aren’t allowed to use it “for safety reasons” 5. We stayed for three nights and on both of the full days we were there our room wasn’t made up by 3:30pm. On the second day we had to ask for it to be made up before it actually happened.

The resort itself was beautiful and the room very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the claw foot tub was a really nice bonus. That said the lack of air conditioning unit in the rooms was reall...y surprising. We were there in the Spring so the nights were cool enough to cool the room down, but I can't imagine being there in the heat of the Summer, it would be way too hot to sleep. I also think the hotel should provide tokens for the bus, because getting to the hotel from downtown by foot would have been incredibly difficult as it's uphill up the mountain. However, if you can figure out the Roam bus app, the transit system in Banff is excellent, I just don't think the average tourist or elderly individual could figure it out on their own. Lastly and more importantly, we were there on business and booked via a work credit card. At check in I confirmed they did have that card on file and the room was to be charged to that card which they did confirm. Then at check out they said they had no other card on file other than my personal and I had to be charged for it on my own credit card. They also charged one night already months ago during booking, which we did have on our work card statement already, then argued with us that this was just a hold, and would be refunded. So they charged our work card for a night months ago, then claimed they were going to refund it, then force me to pay for all of it on my personal card... and I still had to pay a different deposit upon check in. None of that made any sense, so beware of that if dealing with them for business travel.

Wonderful location. Amazing experience. We also animals of property which was a nice surprise. The staff was very friendly and helpful with ideas and suggestions of what to do in Banff. We loved the f...ireplace in our room The bathroom was very spa like.
