Nice Resort, Nice facilities and restaurants. Overall a great stay

We (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed at the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort for 3 nights as part of a 8 day trip to Aruba and Curacao. The resort and the property grounds are amazing. The resort has a very nice and upscale feel to it. We stayed in an ocean view room and had a good view of the ocean. The pool is nice and big. The beach looks great, though it is very rocky. So we mainly were in the pool. Very nice restaurants with great ambience. The breakfast buffet was great. We had dinner at the Salty Iguana (tables on the beach) and Zala Gastro lounge. Great food. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating was due to an issue we had at Salty Iguana. We had lunch there and had specifically told the server of a mushroom allergy for my son (my son throws up a few hours after consuming mushroom). We had specifically said no mushroom in any of the food since we were sharing, but we ended up getting a quesadilla that had mushrooms. Luckily we realized it before my son could consume it, but it would have spoiled our vacation had he eaten it. What frustrated me even more was how the situation was handled. I spoke about this to the guest relations at the resort. I was told that someone will get back to me about this, but haven't heard back yet. Overall, I would still rate very highly of this resort and recommend it to others.
If sleep is important choose another hotel

This hotel is beautiful and well maintained. Room was large, well designed and very clean. Mattress was superb. But the Saturday night we stayed, there was a party going on in the ballroom, two floors down from our room - the noise and vibration traveling all the way to our room made it impossible to sleep. When I opened the door to the. hallway you could see the walls vibrating - it was a scary experience. Front desk offered earplugs and said they had warned us of this party going on till 2:00 in the welcome letter. We were with a large group of friends and a number called the front desk to complain - finally the front desk just stopped answering the phone. I wrote to Marriott and they brushed aside my concerns with a pat letter.
