Another Great Stay
GraniteAlpharetta (Alpharetta) on Nov 14, 2024
Another Great Stay My wife and I took our yearly trip to Curacao and choose to stay at the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort as we have done for many years in the past. I like the location of the hotel, as it is on the beach and close to shopping malls, grocery stores and a short drive to town as well as the airport. Curacao is definitely an island that you will want to rent a car to explore all that it has to offer. I contacted Jacob Brigitha at the front desk before I arrived and asked him to send me a list of new restaurants that he would recommend. I chose seven restaurants and times and he made the reservations, then sent me a confirmation of each one. I like to make my dinning reservations a week ahead so that we can dine at the times and location of our choosing. The island has so many good restaurants I am glad the hotel is not all-Inclusive; I would not stay at an all-Inclusive hotel. The Pietermaai area in Punda is about 10 minutes away and offers a wide variety of dining options, which I think are some of the bests on the island. The food at the hotel is good but not something that I would like to eat all week long. Since we have stayed at this hotel many times before, I contacted Graceny Webster to get the room location that I wanted rather than take a chance of not being where we would like to be. Vacation is expensive and limited in time, so I like a room location to be as perfect as possible. Graceny was very helpful and accommodating to my request. Upon arrival I was greeted by two outstanding bell men, Nash and Brian, who took the bags from the car to the room. During my stay they were a valuable resource of information about the island. Laklisha Connor at the front desk was very helpful throughout my stay. She always had good things to say and a smile on her face. The Salty Iguana beach bar was being remodeled and will be open soon, but I did not see any interruption in service. The food quality is a few notches below our prior experience, however. The hotel has several bars spread out over the property in and about the pool beach area. Maria and John at the bar did a great job of making my drinks. The hotel has a coffee house on property called Papiamento that has fresh baked good, coffee, snacks and cold drinks. Ingrid works at the counter and she has been at the hotel for over 25 years. I enjoy talking with her every year and she remembers me. I am a Titanium member so I had access to the Reef Club, which is a great feature of this hotel and one of the many reasons why we return to the hotel every year. If needed, you can work on your computer during your stay; the club is a nice place to work. The club offers a quiet place for breakfast, evening finger food, cocktails and cold drinks throughout out the day. We enjoyed many diverse conversations of the group of people that occupied the club. Most of the guests in the club are friendly and are there throughout the week, creating a constant stream of conversation with the same people. The hotel offers two computers in the lobby that are connected to the internet and a printer. The computer is helpful in printing airline boarding passes. We enjoyed the beach and pool and never had any problems getting a shady place to sit. We enjoyed our stay and are planning our next visit to Curacao and the Marriott. Keep up the work and see you soon.

The resort has a beautiful view. It’s not inclusive. They have about two or three restaurants to choose from and the food is really good. Staff was nice. The rooms are spacious especially the closet space. The pool is 24 hrs the bar closes at midnight. Other than it not being inclusive. Everything was great. Good and drinks are fairly priced. Drinks are about $13 each meal is about $20
