I stayed at the Macdonald for 3 nights in November as part of a work trip. The property is smaller than many of the Fairmonts in Canada, but has its own charms. The view of the river is lovely, minus 25C temperatures notwithstanding! The stand out for this stay for me was the service. I received lovely service from check in, to dining (in room and in the hotel's bar) and with requests I had for my room. I requested a yoga mat for my room, which was waiting for me when I arrived, and, to combat the extreme Alberta dryness, guest services put a humidifier in my room. This was a game changer for me as a coastal person unaccustomed to the very dry cold. Don't be shy about asking guest services if these are available! The signature cocktails in the bar are on the pricier end for a cocktail (24ish bucks), but they are crafted with such delicious expertise that I ordered more than one! If you are doing business at the nearby convention centre, this property is a good choice for your Edmonton travels.

Amazing experience amazing view loved that atmosphere very relaxing for the evening Enjoyed the stay staff gave us a complimentary unexpected upgrade to. large spaces room was great. I had lots of seating area to relax and enjoy our time. Very nice decor.

Rooms are nice just could be a little better. (I’m on floor 7) The food is good but sometimes makes my stomach. Probably cause I ate too much. But the thing that downgraded my experience was that I was informed that the pool ended around 10:15. But we were not allowed at 8:15. This was clearly a waste of time. But overall it was nice.

Fairmont properties are alway an outstanding experience. Service is always excellent, rooms are always beautiful and very clean. Beds and linens are amazing!! Meals and drinks are exceptional. We love Fairmont and have stayed in properties all over the world and cannot wait for our next stay.

Was here for a couple of days to relax. Check in was a breeze. The young lady was new but wasted no time doing her job. Room was clean, quiet, and spacious enough for me. Dining was glorious. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly and polite! Enjoyed my stay and recommend this hotel. Hard to get to but once there, all is good
