A really nice week. Very well maintained resort with good amenities. Excellent staff. Friendly, attentive. Veranda restaurant is outstanding. Good for families too. No real beach, which we knew. Nic...e rafts short walk to in sea. Very nice Marriott brand touches. Would come back.
New Year's Eve at Grand Cayman Marriott Resort
268stefanb (Los Alamitos, California) on Jan 05, 2025
Last year we stayed at the Marriott Resort for Christmas; it was a wonderful experience, primarily because of the super-friendly staff. This year we went over New Years to experience the Resort's New Year...s Eve Party. The staff worked all day, night, and New Year's Morning to create a most wonderful experience for their guests. Amazingly, by 6AM on Jan 1, pool - beach front area had returned to normal, with beach recliners out and towel service as if it had been any other day. The staff must have worked from 1AM - 6AM to accomplish that. Thank you to Team Marriott! Also a shout-out to Ms. Scott, who looked after our room for our 6 nights. She was super flexible with our schedule and made our room look warm and welcome upon our return from the day's outings. One side note: the Vista Bar from prior years, where we enjoyed the beach, pool, while watching American College Football and the NFL outdoor, was washed away from storms in 2024. Bar service is still provided, but for those of us who want to watch sport on TV and the beach / ocean during the commercials while enjoying a Pina Colada, that experience is not currently available. With the beach erosion of recent years, with rising seas, and 7 Mile Beach having become 7 Kilometer Beach, what will the future hold for the resorts on the southern end of what once was 7 Mile Beach?
