Decent for the price - old and dated

Itsallaboutthepools (Calgary) on Mar 29, 2025

Good: the view is beautiful. The resort is very empty so seating is never an issue. Average: the food is mediocre at best. The ocean is definitely a dangerous swim here - based on how close the shore th...e waves break. Beach is large and very few people on it. Bad: the pillows, the wifi doesn’t work, dingy cushions, dingy curtains, no lights in the men’s pool washroom (they had to bring in a candle- this was the entire week and is a glimpse into how much attention is spent to maintenance of the property). This resort is a more authentic Mexican experience. Mostly Mexican families here, most staff don’t speak English. This is a run down hotel on a beautiful property- but for the price it makes sense.

Keep your expectations low!

We have been at many resorts throughout Mexico. This was our worst experience. The rooms was dingy and dirty. Dead bugs under pillows and sheets, sticky walls, soap scum in bathroom, mold in bathroom, et...c. Asking house keeping didn't help. Threadbare linens. Almost no English. Spotty internet. Many of the advertised amenities were not open/available. Food was - well mostly mushy? Very limited and modest (to say the best) entertainment. No real English TV. Everything closed up early (including beach access). Overpriced and overrated. Just run-down. The beach area is quite a walk (the little shuttle was never available when needed). Don't compare this to what you would get in the Mayan Rivera, etc.
