Active Advisories
Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa’s Grotto Bar and swim-through cave portion of the pool is temporarily closed effective May 24, 2023 to December 15, 2024 due to project maintenance. During this time the rest of the pool area and other food and beverage experiences are available for guest’s enjoyment.
Work is currently underway with work hours being Monday through Friday, 9am – 5pm. There is expected noisy work from June 17 – July 31, 2024, but do not anticipate invasive noise thereafter. A partition will surround the work area for the duration of the transformation.

Beautiful resort.

Beautiful resort. Not the type of beach to lay down in beach chairs in as it's on an incline. Definitely need water shoes here. Lots of beautiful animals and they are revamping their penguin exhibit. So excited to see that finished! The pool is nice and deep, perfect for floating in. Loved the reusable water bottles and refill stations located all throughout the hotel. Towel returns. I don't know how they know..but they will charge your room if you don't have them returned by midnight. Beds are very comfortable. Sheets are high quality. Whaler's shopping village within walking distance.. about a mile.
Major noise

Noise everywhere. Jackhammer, crane digging holes, pool compromised by noise due to removal, yes removal of Grotto bar. Sending guests to Timeshare nextdoor. The seat covers say “Owners Only”very unwelcoming. Mixer noise at dawn coming from Pool area. No penguins or birds for now. Penguin pond drained. No upper lobby music/ bar at happy hour. Turned it into a wedding venue. Visited Hyatt 2x many years ago. Love Hyatt but won’t do this again. Not a good value for money and Maui experience ruined.
