The yoga on the beach is NOT yoga if Anya is teaching....

WanderOhWander2024 (San Francisco, California) on Jul 16, 2024

This review is strictly for the yoga class on the beach. I thoroughly enjoyed Erica R.'s class on Friday. Her session included a good amount of movement, slightly challenging, she was also engaging, and funny, and I felt great afterward. It was disappointing that she was only available once during my stay. For the next day, I attended classes led by a different instructor (Anya). Unfortunately, these sessions did not meet my expectations for a yoga class. The content and style were very different from what I'm accustomed to, with minimal traditional yoga poses or flows. Additionally, I found it distracting that photos and videos of Anya were being taken during the class without letting the participants know. Sadly, we checked to see if a different instructor was teaching but for the next 3 days (4 days total) it was her teaching. Kauai Shores should review the yoga program to ensure it consistently meets the standards your guests expect. Perhaps offering a variety of instructors or styles throughout the week would cater to different preferences. I am sorry, but a shake mimicking a gorilla is not yoga. It is like yoga for toddlers. The instructor barely moved and we barely did anything. What a waste of time.

Very unethical practice. Provided no refund when a calamity hit Hawaii making it unsafe to travel.

BEWARE !! We pre booked for 2 nights in Aug 2023. There was a travel advisory in Hawaii due to the wild fires in Maui. As Hawaii is a very small island, it was not safe to go. We cancelled our trip. This hotel refused to provide a refund. NO REFUND. This is a very unethical way to do business. It was a calamity and all the other hotels we booked in the different Hawaii islands for the trip had refunded us. DO NOT BOOK !!

A little bit of paradise!

Novella in reception couldn't have been nicer. The complimentary bottle of wine and free bikes, plus yoga classes every morning, a delicious beachside restaurant makes this place hard to beat. Right on the 8 mile scenic bike path, Kauai Shorest is the perfect place for us to base our exploration of Kauai.

Welcoming, clean hotel with great perks!

Julie E (Gold Beach, Oregon) on Jul 13, 2024

Beds/pillows are comfy, a/c is great, access to the coastal bike trail is awesome AND you can check out bikes for FREE to ride on it…a cost savings and a great way to view the coast or access other beaches! Room was spotless to boot. I’d absolutely stay here again.

Perfect for families

Kwin_go_travel (Purvis, Mississippi) on Jul 10, 2024

The hotel has been wonderfully updated. The rooms were larger and they utilized all the space which was nice. The beds were comfy and the balcony was nice. I also appreciated the overhead fan in the room. As for the hotel we booked an ocean view room. To be quiet honest non of these rooms are “ocean view”. We had the far end room to see the ocean and we could only see a corner of from our balcony. So save your money and just book a regular room. Pool area was nice, the restaurant is not affiliated with the hotel and it is good too. There is a shopping center writhing walking distance for coffee, ice cream, shops, small restaurants and a large ABC convince store. The only complaint is we would leave early and get back around 4pm or so and the housekeeper never got to service our room. The think they were short staffed. Otherwise this was a great place to stay in Kaua’i.
