This was a fun place and a good location to walk to many other areas. We loved they had a kid depth pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Food at all the on site restaurants was great. Rooms were older, but spacious and had everything needed and fairly well kept. We also loved the activities available throughout the day with Luis - he was lovely. The only downside is that you can't go in the ocean on this side which made the nice beach area less useful. All in all, would absolutely go again.

We were visiting friends at Solmar and my fiancé got really drunk and couldn’t walk back to our room at Solmar. Renato was patient, understanding, kind, and led the way to the cab back to our resort. I wanted to walk back through the beach but he advised otherwise which was the right call. The staff at both Solmar and Playa Grande have all been friendly but Renato went out of his way to make sure we were safe. Thank you Renato!!!!

We first stayed at Solmar in 1994. Cabo has changed a lot since then but the friendly staff and beautiful setting at Solmar remain the same. The property is definitely showing its age but it is still pleasant and much quieter than surrounding resorts where we have also stayed. Sadly the menu is not as varied, nor the food as tasty as it used to be. I did really enjoy the Pacifico cocktail, the ceasar salad with shrimp, and the tiramisu. This trip was made extra fun by Luis, the Activities Director. Stretching class on the beach every morning at 10 was great and I learned a lot of Spanish from his lessons. Thank you, Luis!

Once and finally got there… the staff made my vacation worth … the staff is super friendly and make you feel like home, Luis the guy I charge of the activities not only cares about the activities but actually make you get the fun is mean to be ! Great Job Luis ! Great food also !

My husband and I chose to spend our honeymoon at the Solmar Resort after a recommendation by my parents who had celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary there. We have previously stayed at resorts including the Rui Santa Fe, Breathless, and the Rose, however, staying at the Solmar was a more intimate side of Cabo that we have never experienced before which was perfect for our honeymoon occasion. From the start of our stay to the very end, we were in awe of every amenity the resort had to offer. The resort is so intimate, peaceful, and romantic as it sits on the Pacific side, away from the Marina, however, is only a short 15 minute walk to all the night life, public beaches, and shopping. The rooms had an authentic Mexican design and were extremely clean thanks to our wonderful maid, Diana, who made sure we had extra waters and towels every day. The food at the Tejaban was outstanding. My husband is a former chef at a country club and raved over the arrachera dish for dinner, while I ordered the seafood pizza almost everyday for lunch. The service and entire wait staff tended to our every desire. Isai was extremely knowledgeable on the ingredients and flavors of the dishes and always had the best recommendations, including the crab enchiladas and tres leches cake. Jorge had excellent customer service skills and made us a superb Mexican coffee on our last night in Cabo. The pool staff during the day was fantastic also. Tavi greeted us everyday with a smile and could make one delicious mojito. We enjoyed getting to know Arturo who always made sure we were well taken care of. Thank you to everyone who worked the breakfast shift; our coffee mugs were never empty and saying good morning to everyone was a great way to start our day. Could not compliment the staff at the Solmar enough. They went above and beyond to guarantee we had a wonderful stay. My husband and I felt as though we had made new friends during our stay and cannot recommend this beautiful resort enough. It truly is a hidden Cabo gem and we cannot wait to return.
