A few days in Merida.

One week, I stayed at Fiesta as part of a big conference. The hotel is nice, in central Merida. There are several shops in the ground floor of the hotel for shoppers. My check in process was fast and ef...ficient. The rooms are a good size as is the bathroom. They have the usual amenities of TV, study desk, fridge. And with a balcony. The beds are clearly old and lumpy and the bedding has seen better days. But the room steward did an excellent job of cleaning. The breakfast is amazing. The spread with so many options to choose from both hot and cold. Wide variety of delicious local fruit. I loved the smoked salmon. The buffet also had lots of local foods to enjoy; I liked the refried beans. The lunch buffet for our group, I didn't enjoy. The food was bland. However, the salad and soup were OK. For conferencing, it is an excellent choice, with many rooms to choose from. The staff served our conference excellently. I would recommend the hotel.

The hotel is centrally located, close to Av. Montejo which is a main corridor, here you will find great restaurants, museums and shops at walking distance. The city center is a short taxi ride. We stayed a...t the 5th floor which was the executive one, fare included breakfast. Room and bathroom are spacious. At the lower level there is a shopping center with many stores that carry local fashion (guayaberas and linen shirts and dresses) good quality products. This hotel is good value for money. We recommend it.
