Huge Construction Project
AstonEyesOnly on Mar 06, 2025
We were warned of the Construction Project by an email from the Hotel one day before our booking and once the reservation was no longer refundable. Our room was really nice, although we did have some bad ...luck to have some noisy neighbors. We did call the hotel reception and they said they would send security, but the noise didn't stop until 3am... Hotel would be beautiful without the construction. As other guests have said, its very noisy all day at the main pool. Its a massive project. The hotel could hardly handle the existing clientele. Will be impossible once the extra buildings are done. Food fairly poor at the hotel but you can drive a few minutes to find amazing restaurants.
Lovely relaxing stay and location
FrequentTraveller921 (London, United Kingdom) on Feb 13, 2025
We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a series of travels around Mexico. The hotel is a very relaxing hacienda with spacious grounds and our accommodation was really pleasant - a traditional building with... a living room, spacious bedroom and bathroom and private terrace. Air conditioning and excellent ventilation meant that in spite of the obvious warm weather we felt very comfortable inside. The magnificent 50 metre pool (one of 3 outdoor pools) was a special favourite of ours and we also really enjoyed the seating around the pool. The hotel is in a great location either for driving downtown or heading out to Progreso for example - being within easy access of the highways. Within 5 minutes there is also a supermarket in case you have forgotten something. We ate some lunches and breakfasts at the hotel and breakfast was perhaps disappointing- both in terms of the service being slow and the lack of variety. But these are minor points. We sat back and enjoyed the scenery - the coatis, the lizards and the two adorable hotel cats. Finally it must be said that the current major expansion work means building noise around the pool until 6pm (and builders with a birds-eye view of the pool) which may affect your enjoyment. We restricted our visits to outside the working hours but not everyone can do that. The extended hotel and buildings will greatly increase the number of people on site which I would be somewhat pessimistic about - the current hotel has a very select feel to it.
