Great visit, superior staff

We spent a week at Jewel Grande. Our expectations were neutral, as some reviews made us a bit nervous, but that was absolutely not our experience! We found checking in a little slow, but very gracious staf...f. We loved the welcome drink, and that they asked instead of just handing you the house drink! Bell services were prompt, Vernon(we think) helped us to our room which had a gorgeous view of the Caribbean. We were close to the Sentry pool, so afternoons got loud with activities but not a problem earlier or later than that. Room service came with a charge, yes, BUT was so prompt we didn’t mind. Having their delicious coffee on the balcony while the resort wakes up was worth every penny. And you can order the night before. Meals very very good to excellent, breakfast buffet has many choices. The omelette station can get very busy at times. Outside is quieter if you can score a table in the shade. Tackeisha, Gavin, & Kemal took great care of us. Lunch, either at Fiery Pelican or Crickets (Waves) were good but some inconsistent service and having somthings not available are areas for improvement. Kim was a friendly server at Crickets and we highly recommend the soup! They were very good. We didn’t try the buffet for lunch or dinner. Dinners were enjoyed at all the restaurants, our first experience at Le Bouchon was better, with the steak perfectly cooked. Devon & John-Noe were attentive servers. It can get loud in there (we also think the music playing there is a little strange for the environment) so just be prepared. The Pierside is the place to watch the sunset! Waves had great food and dining outdoors was lovely! On our second trip there, Kristina was our server, and Tyrone manager, came to check on our meals. We shared with him that husband was disappointed that the oxtail ravioli was not available that night, but we very much enjoyed the rest of our meal. We left to grab our tea at the cafe, and returned to our room to a call, Tyrone had the chef prepare an order and he personally delivered it to our room as we were not going to be able to dine there again! That is going above and beyond! The bars were good, Kavoy, Sanjae, Franz, Gary and Shanna were great bartenders. Tony Ann expertly serviced our room every day. We had a couple calls to the front desk, once for loud noise after hours and once we had no water. Both times, issues were resolved quickly. This says a lot about a brand. Almost every staff member we encountered took the time to acknowledge us and greeted us warmly. This was such a pleasure to experience. As a couple, you find it difficult to locate adults only areas of the resort (kids were even at the lobby bar a few times) but we were aware of this challenge. A great choice for a visit to our favorite island in the Caribbean! One love.

We had a fantastic family trip to Jamaica! Stayed in an ocean villa with stunning views. The resort is a bit dated, but the amazing service made up for it. The restaurants were excellent—great quality food.... Special thanks to Addannis for keeping our villa spotless. Most of all, our butlers, Toby and Lennox, were the highlight of our stay. They constantly checked in, anticipated our needs, and made everything effortless. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality truly made our trip unforgettable.
