Making memories in Neuvo

I travelled with my daughter, her best friend and best friend's mother for a graduation trip. The resort is so clean, and the staff works endlessly to keep the resort spotless and to take care of guests. W...e only got into The Grill a la carte once, which was great, but all the food at the buffets was great. There is so much to choose from that I think there is something from the most adventurous palate to the pickiest palate. I tried everything, while my daughter stuck closer to what was familiar (pizza, fries, etc) and we were both very happy with the food. The location is the best, being a quick walk to Bucerias, but with a quiet location that is not right by shopping. The resort's bars on the beach all shut down by 10pm, so in the evening it is quiet, which I liked. If you want to stay up, you just go to the Sky Lounge. Big shout out to Edgar, who is part of the entertainment staff. He was so personable, fun and made it look effortless to entertain guests. We really enjoyed the events hosted by him; he is very gifted at relating to others and to reading a crowd.
The Good, Bad & Ugly

We stayed at the Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta over Easter, and here's our honest take—the good, the bad, and the downright ugly. **The Good:** The food was solid, with a decent variety to suit different t...astes. Jorge from the concierge team deserves a special shout-out for being incredibly helpful with dinner reservations. While most guests mentioned how difficult it was to book, we managed to snag a few—albeit early 6 p.m. time slots. Still, we were grateful just to get in. Gilberto, one of the poolside servers, was fantastic. He consistently checked in on us and provided excellent service throughout our stay. **The Bad:** We arrived around 10 a.m. on our first day, fully aware our room wouldn’t be ready that early. However, we were surprised (and disappointed) that we weren’t even given our wristbands until noon. In our experience with other all-inclusive resorts, early-arriving guests are typically granted access to amenities with their wristbands, even if rooms aren’t yet available. The lobby was also underwhelming—only about eight chairs, two coffee tables, and zero ambiance. To make matters worse, it was essentially the only option in the evening for a family with a teen to relax. There was nowhere to play cards, hang out, or even enjoy a proper drink. They continued serving from the lobby bar in plastic pool cups at night. Sipping wine or a martini from plastic felt more like a budget motel than a beachfront resort. **The Ugly:** The rooms were by far the worst part of our stay. While the building's location was convenient—close to the pool, beach, and buffet—the rooms themselves were in terrible condition. On check-in, we found no hangers, just three towels, and no hair dryer. In both rooms, the AC units leaked badly, flooding parts of the floor. A maintenance worker came to "fix" the issue by sucking water through a hose—he gagged and eventually vomited in our toilet. Things didn’t improve from there. Both rooms later developed water bubbles in the ceilings, and parts of the shower ceiling actually collapsed. It’s shocking and frankly unacceptable that rooms in that condition are being rented out at all. **Overall:** This resort was a disappointment. There are far better options in both Nuevo Vallarta and Puerto Vallarta, and we won’t be returning.
