We didn't want to leave!

Lucy B (Milton Keynes, United Kingdom) on Jul 19, 2024

Loved it here! I think it's the first time my husband's said he wasn't ready leave a resort, we were both very chilled out after a week. It's a lovely quiet resort so if you're after a party place it's not going to be for you. We found the rooms lovely, the food excellent and choice of drinks excellent. The spa was lovely and relaxing with good value treatments. A free scuba trip was available most days which is really fabulous in an all inclusive place. The beaches in St Lucia are all public but stayed quiet even on the weekend for us. There were always beds available on the beach and the staff would come round regularly with cold water, sometimes fruit and cold towels. I tried yoga, a dance class and a sound bath and all were great. The shared transfer from the airport was a bit bumpy and we all were a bit tired and grumpy after that, but the staff tried to cheer us up on our tours of the resort. Would definitely go back if the opportunity comes up! If you're coming from the UK, try to get 10 days or more, you won't regret it!

Truly wonderful.

Friendliest hotel you could ever go to from the staff to the people you meet there. Excellent food and service. So many activities if you want to do them or nothing if you just want to relax. Set in beautiful gardens on a fantastic beach. Thank you Lisa, Sandra and all the other wonderful staff for making our fourth visit as special as our first. We’ll return as soon as possible!

Close to perfection...

R and L C (Colchester, United Kingdom) on Jul 15, 2024

As close to a perfect retreat as possible. Extremely clean, well maintained and cared for and excellent food too! Warm, genuinely friendly staff and a homely atmosphere. Not the sanitised marble, glass or stainless steel of the anonymous global hotel chains - rather that unique, special place with its own character, personality and soul. We were made to feel special from the first minute to the last.

Just not for us

Donnadooo (Kent, United Kingdom) on Jul 10, 2024

If you want TOTAL peace & quiet then this is for you! This place never comes alive unless you’re into 6am work outs or local horses being bare back ridden down the beach at speed in the afternoon. Staff are great, food is OK if it’s hot under a lid otherwise it’s covered in flies, so forget cakes or salads! Grounds are immaculate and our room was always clean, totally no complaints. There are 3 restaurants to dine in. Thyme is the ‘French’ one, the a/c is freezing and the decor a little dated but the food was OK. Malabar restaurant is a ‘toes in the sand’ beach experience and again the food was OK - both times we dined there the chef went to each table to check we had all enjoyed our food. The Terrace restaurant is the no need to book option, but also not buffet, all evening meals are table waited. They try very hard to do fine dining but it’s more about tiny portions. Starters and desserts are literally two bites per plate, main slightly more. They are great with food labelling showing which meals are dairy free, nut free, vegetarian etc and always check in with you for allergies before your meal. There is rarely any background music during the day in the restaurants and of an evening the entertainment is poor if it even exists. The bar area is usually empty by around 10pm. There is a schedule of activities to do but you have to check the board every day, if painting in the gardens or yoga and meditation are your thing then you’ll be fine. On the couple of occasions we went to the concierge to enquire about trips and taxis we found them not particularly helpful, if anything when enquiring about trips the lady in question was almost reluctant to help, she shrugged her shoulders and did come back in a few days without looking into anything or telling us what was available to do. We booked our own excursions online in the end through this app.
