Royalton did it again

I am kind of a royalton stan. Visited Royalton St Lucia for the second time this April 2025. The 1st time was an all girls trip in 2022. This time I returned with my husband for my 50th birthday. The vibe ...was very different this time. There was a noticeable decline in the amount of entertainment options. It appears they cut staffing. Inspite of this, the Vibe Team that was there kept the guest engaged. Sam (Samanafer) and Vejay had the Sunday foam pool party jumping. This by far is the best activity, do not miss it. Quamme kept us entertained with the trivia and kept the guest engaged. Jefferson kept us entertained and hydrated. He did not let our glasses sit empty. Coco Sam was a man with many talents, he not only provided us with beverages served in coconuts, he was also a wealth of knowledge. Shim served up fun and cocktails. The hotel is well maintained with many food options. Do not miss the Tappenyaki restaurant. The local cuisines are not plentiful, but they can mainly be found at breakfast and lunch. The beach is private and small, the only downside is the presence of seaweed. We will be going back. The resort is beautiful, but the staff is what will keep us coming back. My only ask is that you invest in more umbrellas and restrict people from reserving chairs at 6a.
Subpar Experience

First off, the transfer to the resort from the airport is just under 2 hours so please be prepared for that especially if you have kids. The resort its self is lovely with a great layout, easy and convenie...nt to get anywhere on the resort. We stayed in building #5 the elevator needs maintenance it is very slow and buttons do not work properly, we ended up taking the stairs every-other time. The food is underwhelming, the decor of the buffet area and the food do not add up. The on site restaurants are the same along with small portions. We enjoyed Calypso the waiter was friendly and attentive and food was good. We had issues with the Royalton App to book the La-Carte Restaurants, it only allows you to book 2 days in advance and only certain hours of the day. We ended up booking most of our reservations with the customer service desk just before the entrance of the main buffet area - I recommend this if you are also having issues. If you are a Pool person its enjoyable, although if you are not upgrading to the "Hideaway" section you are limited as there are 3 pools to choose from. The beach is small and only one area to really swim in which is closer to the Hideaway. The middle of the beach has rocks so you cannot swim out far. I recommend using the amenities they offer, kayak and snorkels as they are included in the price. The Royalton offers 24/hour room service the menu is limited offering pizza, salad, and burgers, make sure to order ahead as it takes over an hour to receive. I then ordered water to our room, as we didn't get any, it took over 2 hours and I had to call twice. It is also very tough to get any drinking water at this resort. I recommend going to the Cafe in lobby as they will give you water if needed. We also had an bug issue with our room and had to move rooms on our last day, the front desk kept passing us off to other workers and no one could let us what was happening. We ended up packing up our stuff and requesting a new room. No communication with the front desk staff and it was upsetting we had to deal with this on our own. Finally the assistant manager told us we would have answers within 10 minutes, she then assured us the new room would be equipped full mini bar and checked before we went in. When we got to our new room there were many issues, mini bar empty, moldy smell, no air conditioning, shower did not drain, tub did not work, electrical issues - phone fell off hook and lights turned on? When we checked out the next day we brought up the issues to the front desk, and first thing he asked us "was it reported?". We are reporting it now. We were ensured it would be brought to the attention of management. I felt the staff did not value our complaint and tried to pass it off. Unfortunately would not recommend service is lacking.
