Amazing 15th anniversary vacation
Rachel N on Nov 14, 2024
My husband and I celebrated our 15th anniversary at Serenity. We booked a premium plunge pool butler suite. Our transfer from the airport was quick and easy and within minutes we had drinks in hand and were shown to our room. Our butler, Davidson, has already stocked the fridge with all of our requested drinks and snacks and a welcome platter of treats were waiting for us. The staff at serenity are like none we have ever experienced before. The bar staff knows your name and preferred drink by day 2 and the wait staff knows your food preferences. We never had a bad meal. We ventured to Coconut Bay and ate at Silk one night which was also very good. Our room was amazing. The bed was very comfortable and I loved the tv that comes out of the footboard. We loved the outdoor shower and plunge pool as well. It was nice to have the large suite with a sitting area as we ate breakfast in the room some mornings. If you are going definitely go for 7 nights to get the grand romance package. The massage, cabana rentals, special dinner, sunset cruise and island tour really made our week amazing. I thought 7 nights seemed too long but it was just the right amount of time. We really enjoyed the events planned at Serenity. From karaoke night (where almost everyone sang), tiki drink class, poolside games, rum tastings, and sushi making class there was something to peak everyone’s interest. Special shout outs to our Butler Davidson for making sure every detail was perfect, Kaisha and McCarthy for being amazing butlers on call, Ray, Kevin, Charles, Lee, Delon, and Natoya for making the best drinks, Tessa, Sabby, and Cornela for serving amazing meals and Chef Lucy for teaching us to make sushi! A truly memorable vacation.
Luxury in St Lucia

Reading through tripadvisor there are numerous very positive reports about this boutique hotel within a hotel. Our experience was also in general very positive but we also experienced a few little niggles which we thought could be areas for improvement: First the positives: 1/ The rooms are lovely. We had the premium butler suite. We enjoyed sitting by the plunge pool in the late afternoon and the air-con was a welcome relief. The wet-bar was restocked daily 2/ The food was of an excellent standard. The only ‘miss’ was some nachos we ordered on room service. We did venture out to try the jerk chicken in the Tree house at Coconut Beach but preferred the food at Serenity. There is a huge choice of smoothies at Breakfast time which I we very much enjoyed sampling 3/ The extras included in the romance package (this I think is offered without any extra charge if 7 nights or more are booked) were all enjoyed. The sunset cruise was particularly nice 4/ The pool area is lovely. We particularly liked the sunken loungers. It’s often surprisingly quiet- possibly as other guests are on scheduled excursions etc. The niggles/ areas for improvement: 1/ There were no towels available some mornings in the pool area until late . For example, one morning the Towels finally arrived at 10.15am 2/ The room wasn’t replenished with coffee pods for a few days running and the snacks were not restocked 3/ Service in the Great House restaurant was a bit variable and guest food requirements not always remembered eg my husband was given fish/ seafood one night despite clearly stating he didn’t eat either. 4/ we have read in other reviews that some butlers seem to go the extra mile for their guests. This wasn’t our experience. We had to ask every time we wanted something, no replenishments made in the room based on our previous requests, clothes spontaneously cleaned or surprise bubble baths at the end of the day for us. 5/ Our pool cabana dinner was somewhat spoilt by us being given a ridiculously early start time. We didn’t feel any of our allocated dinner times were discussed with us to fit in with any preferences we might have whereas other couples appeared to have been asked when they would like their dinner time to be 6/ Daily room service times were also rather random- one day the room wasn’t serviced until 4.30pm. This was irritating given we had been out on a trip arranged by the hotel from 9am- 2pm so there was a clear opportunity to clean the room earlier in the day. In other high end small hotels we have stayed in every effort is made to service rooms when guests are either out or dining 8/ Our wine tasting event was cancelled on the day due to staff illness. We also went to a scheduled class in the gym at Coconut Beach one day which didn’t happen. There was no explanation given. A note in the gym to say the class had been cancelled would have been appreciated. The cooking class on our last day was also cancelled. Surely there are other staff that can step in at short notice when staff are off sick? 9/ The pool area is very hot and and there is little breeze. Guests can walk over to the beach area in Coconut Beach where there is some sea breeze but the loungers and general ambiance is less luxurious than at Serenity. We noticed the beach and garden area to the right of the Spa was unused. Given this is directly accessible from the Serenity pool, we wondered if both could be developed for use of Serenity guests to give additional choice of sunbathing and relaxing areas in the day. This option would definitely have enhanced our stay
