Not the best resort.

This place is not worth the money. Aruba itself is beautiful and the beach is gorgeous and most people are nice and we did feel safe there but this place is not worth it. I just came back recently from tr...aveling with a group. A few specifics: 1. The restaurant food was not good at all. (There were many guests of all nationalities stating the food was terrible just FYI) The buffet items were hit or miss and really depended on who was cooking it. Sometimes you would get burnt food, sometimes uncooked chicken and other times they would tell you they ran out food items an hour after lunch or dinner began. Also they would say they are out of certain liquor early on in the day. The late night bars would run out of food choices hours before closing. 2. Some staff were great and great fun. Others were rude and unhelpful. For an all inclusive resort for it's price it was not a great experience. If you are looking to eat mediocre food and be at a boring resort just to take your kids or family to Aruba to enjoy the beach then this is an option. 3. People in one room in our group had a flooding bathroom due to the shower being clogged for days and one almost fell. Staff consistently had to soak up the water leaking out all the way to through thr front of the door. It went on for almost 3 days of our 4 day stay until threatening to sew if they fell. Then they offered a room change. 4. My room smelled like a sewer in the bathroom mixed with vomit. I asked for it to be cleaned and stuff remained on the walls and on the trashcan and the smell never went away the entire stay. We supposedly were in the updated version of the property but it was not good. The oceanview rooms are disrupted compared to what they show online. Tamarjin is really rocky as far as a beach so you have to walk down further to the Divi side to enjoy the beach free of rocks so keep that in mind when choosing which side to stay at. 5. Some of the rooms look real outdated and rundown. (We know this as a group member was offered another room on site after they oversold her king room and she had to take a double bed room instead. She found this out upon arrival) 6. There was one staff member at the concierge desk that was rude to several people in my group when we were following instructions on how to reserve our bus ride back to the airport. I overheard other guests speaking about her abrupt personality. She should probably be given something else to do because the concierge desk isn't the best place for her. Overall I will not return to Aruba to stay here.

We love Divi and The Tam

While dining at the buffet I accidentally spilled my drink on the floor. Jasorick was our waiter and immediately reassured me that it was ok and he would fix it. Once it was cleaned he told me “accidents h...appen, it’s ok, just stay positive”. He was working so hard taking care of everyone and went out of his was to make my embarrassed self feel better. We are staying at the Tamarijn and have had the best experiences there and at the Divi. We are booking our next trip before we leave.

A Truly Unacceptable Experience – Safety, Cleanliness, and Basic Hospitality Ignored

TiA T on Apr 13, 2025

A Truly Unacceptable Experience – Safety, Cleanliness, and Basic Hospitality Ignored Our recent stay at Divi Aruba was, without question, one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve encountered—especially fro...m a property that claims to be a premium, all-inclusive resort. What was meant to be a relaxing vacation with friends quickly devolved into a deeply frustrating and, at times, dangerous ordeal. From the moment we stepped into our room, we were hit with an overwhelming smell of mildew. We immediately requested a room change, but were told the hotel was sold out. Instead of properly addressing the issue, someone arrived to spray air freshener—doing nothing to solve the root of the problem. It only got worse. We discovered blood stains on both the headboard and pillowcase—something that should never, under any circumstance, be present in a “clean” room. I spoke with housekeeping and requested a full bedding change, along with a thorough cleaning of the headboard. I also asked for an hour to shower and change before they returned. That’s when we found the shower was backing up, with standing water collecting around our feet. Later that day, we reported the plumbing issue to two maintenance staff members. We returned to find no action had been taken: the sheets were unchanged, the blood remained, and the plumbing issue was still unresolved. The situation escalated when, the next day, my friend—who is seven months pregnant—used the shower and the bathroom flooded. Water poured out into the hallway. I rushed to the front desk for help. Their response? Sending a housekeeper with towels. No maintenance. No urgency. No apology. We had to use every available towel to contain the water ourselves and prevent a dangerous situation for a pregnant guest. Only after multiple complaints did maintenance arrive—without tools. They “inspected” the issue and claimed it was fixed. It was not. The flooding happened again. And again. Finally, on the third attempt, a maintenance worker arrived with a plunger, said it was resolved, and left. It wasn’t. The flooding happened once more. It wasn’t until we warned staff that if our pregnant friend slipped and was injured, we would take legal action, that the hotel finally took the matter seriously. Three days after our initial complaint, we were finally moved to another room. As an apology, we were offered a $100 resort voucher to split between two people. This was insulting, given what we endured. After rejecting that offer and speaking with a manager, they increased it to $200. Our total room cost was $4,647. Offering less than 5% in compensation for three days of unsanitary, unsafe, and unacceptable conditions is not only inadequate—it’s offensive. We consulted with a family member who manages a major hotel property and were advised to request at least two nights’ worth of compensation, which would have been appropriate and fair. Instead, Divi Aruba appeared more interested in minimizing the situation than doing right by their guests. To make matters worse, we are now being told we must wait for an “all-manager meeting” scheduled for tomorrow at 9:30 AM—just one hour before our departure—to determine what, if anything, will be offered to us. I find it baffling that it takes a full management team to evaluate a situation this clear-cut. The delays, the deflections, and the lack of empowerment at every level of staff have only deepened our frustration. This experience was not merely inconvenient—it was a failure of basic hospitality, sanitation, and guest safety. Blood-stained bedding, unresolved plumbing issues, flooded hallways, and the lack of care for a visibly pregnant guest are serious violations of what any guest should expect at a resort of this caliber. We left feeling dismissed, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. I would urge anyone considering this property to think twice. Divi Aruba does not appear to value guest well-being, accountability, or basic standards of cleanliness and safety.

Nice and almost perfect

This is an all inclusive resort on the beaches of Aruba. The food was good, not great. And the drinks were also good. This is a resort, with a lot of guests, so the drinks and food level was to be expected.... The hat was the down side. On the up side, we had a room on the beach, first floor, with the beach literally 20 feet away. OMG. If you want to unwind, I his is the place. The he weather was ALWAYS 85 or more durning the day and no cooler than 75 at night. It is windy (you are in the middle of the ocean) and the sun WILL cook you, no matter the SPF (we used 70 and still got burned) but you are really close to the equator so . . . You have beach, pools, bars, food. You can sit and enjoy the pelicans diving for food or you can take an excursion. We went on a UTV tour (awesome, not enough room here to review but check Rockabeach tours), a tour of the aloe plant and a tour of a rum distillery. The resort was clean and everyone bey happy and helpful. “One happy island”
