I read many negative reviews and a bit concerned about going however do not be concerned i had an excellent stay and would definately recommend this hotel. Decent hotel on the water but despite arriving at 4pm (an hour after check-in is supposedly guaranteed) the hotel didn’t have a room available for us until closer to 5:15pm! We were very disappointed, as we were coming off a huge travel day and just wanted to get to the room and freshen up. I asked for complimentary breakfast to offset our frustration and thankfully they agreed. Good thing, as buffet breakfast for two is typically VERY expensive for what you get. The hotel isn’t fancy or modern but the shower products were lovely and the bed was comfortable. Walking distance from the wonderful Champers restaurant which was delicious.

We attended a family wedding for 1 week at the Accra. Pros Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms were good. Quiet, comfortable. We faced the road and it wasn't that loud at all. Grounds were awesome (pools and right on the beach!) We always found a beach chair. Atmosphere was perfect - families (but not too many kids), music but not a 'party resort' either. Beach was incredible. Rum punch - good and bad. If you love rum, then enjoy - THEY ARE STRONG! Food - all food we had for the week was excellent - no complaints. Cons You might need to follow up a few times if you requested towels or something. Our AC broke in our room on day 2, but they fixed so that was fine. Our room was supposed to have 2 double beds (Junior Suite for 4 people, 2 adults, 2 kids) - we got a king bed and crappy pull out. You can ask for an extra mattress at least which helped the pull out.*check your reservation to ensure they have you marked for 4 people (not just 2) and ensure 2 BEDS! We didn't eat at resort - way too expensive, but there were lots of restaurants close by (across the road) which are all great and within 1-2 min walk. Our beach only had 1 'yellow flag' day the entire week where we were allowed to go into the water. Otherwise, red flags (no swimming allowed) so be prepared to walk down the beach to 'yellow' flag - you can't use those chairs down the beach unless you want to pay $30 each!

I just got back from a fantastic birthday week. Stayed on my favourite island Barbados and most importantly at my favourite hotel, the Accra Beach Hotel and Spa. Special thank you for the warmth and appreciation the Management and Staff gave to my travel buddy and myself. You cannot ask for a more down to earth, thoughtful, friendly guy than its Manager, Mr Suresh Monickoraja. The Assistant Sales Manager Mrs. Cherry-Ann Hunte, an absolute Gem. Thank you Cherry-Ann. This time around I had the privilege of meeting Mrs. Liza, Group Housekeeping Manager. What a lovely person. Miss Cache' at Reception, I would never forget. Such a sassy beautiful young lady. The two young ladies at the Spa I interacted with as I had my mani and pedi done on my Birthday were a joy to speak with. I also met a lovely fellow guest at the hotel Debra from Boston Massachusetts. Accra Beach Hotel and Spa is about family and awesome friends. My home away from home. Thank you guys for making my Special Birthday even more Special. ??

We have had a amazing holiday here in Barbados with our grandson. The staff at the Accra are so friendly nothing too much trouble. The pool area and swim up bar were a hit fruit punch grandson rum punch with grandad.It’s a good base to explore. Hotel is clean and kept nicely by some lovely chamber maids,they seem to have a rolling maintenance system. Loved it and we will be back
