Beautiful, Quiet Resort
Scott W on Dec 20, 2024
We went in December of 2024. We were in an upper floor unit, which had 2 baths and a full kitchen. Garden view, really liked that. Everything was very clean and up to date - there was no "tired" feeling to it at all. Wifi worked great. AC worked fine. Staff was really fast to respond to requests - we asked for an extra blanket, and later for some more dishwasher pods, and I felt they came within minutes. Front desk staff was always helpful and friendly, as was the on-site concierge lady. The grounds and landscaping were also beautiful, and very well-kept. We also liked the "quieter" nature of this resort. Loved the pools - we went daily to the smaller pool, and often were the only ones there. We're already talking about coming back here next year.
Avoid booking the "Hotel Rooms"
dennis h (San Francisco, California) on Dec 16, 2024
The grounds, pool, beach, and Castaway Restaurant were all outstanding. However, do not book the "hotel rooms" especially 323, 423, 523, etc. They are exposed to the resorts air conditioning system and you will get no sleep due to the constant roar. Apparently all the hotel rooms are at the very end of the buildings. When we complained, we were moved to a different wing, again at the end, farthest away. They didn't tell us that the rooms next door and below were under construction, so the noise started early. If you go, book a studio or better room. Also, be aware that there are no ice machines in the whole complex. The frig doesn't have an adequate freezer. We did get a cup of ice from the restaurant. Nice chaise lounges for watching sunsets.

The staff was absolutely phenomenal. This place is our home away from home. Our go to. for Maui. if you want to keep meal costs down. They have awesome barbeque areas at the facility. The pool and grounds are so well maintained. we plan on coming back yet again in march.
Best Secret in Kaanapali

MKV is a wonderful, old-school, low-density experience. The grounds are beautiful, the units tastefully furnished, and the staff are great. We have been coming here for over 20 years and have become friends with many of them. It says a lot about the complex that many of the staff have been there as long as we have been coming to visit
Im hoping others had a better experience. Very dated property and staff needs more education on food allergies.

This property is very dated. Maybe it was just our wing but not clean. I had to clean our bathroom sink area. The lampshades were very dusty and had a piece of gum stuck to the lamp shade. We paid through a travel agent so I couldn’t dispute our nightly rate. Also. I am celiac and must eat gluten free We ate at the restaurant on site the day we arrived. I asked the wait staff over and over what my options were and when the food came I asked 3 times to ensure it was gluten free. I was assured it was safe. Well nope! I was sick from day 1 ruined my vacation Lessoned learned on my part. So I recommend you eat off properly if you are gluten free. Even the food trucks are a better option.
