Vdara Is Great

Perrine Z on Jan 18, 2025

It is a beautiful MGM property. Separate from a casino offering a quiet atmosphere. Very comfortable and accommodating. Mike Philogene, who is a member of the Vdara security staff, was especially helpful a...nd professional. He is a fine rep for the company.

Bare bones

RaiDoc (Naples, Florida) on Jan 14, 2025

The one bedroom suite we had was fine overall albeit tight and nowhere to really hang clothes properly. It was also dusty and not patrticularly well kept with several things not working. Also while it came... equipped with cooking and eating facilities they provide literally nothing...including bottled water. You have to ask each time which for a costly luxury suite is pretty pathetic. The Vdara itself is busy and truly sparse. The one Starbucks is lousy I'm afraid...with harassed staff that dont much care. So different from the Aria next door where they have really nice cafes and patisseries - but its quite a walk away.

Perfect location

We booked the Vdara as we liked the idea of a more relaxed hotel vibe & didn’t need a casino on site - we were happy to use the Aria, Bellagio or Cosmopolitan which are all connected. We also loved the id...ea of a larger suite with great facilities with the lounge area & kitchenette. We were at the back of the hotel so no strip view but still had the bright lights of The Rio & read of The Bellagio. Check in was quick & easy. Staff were very friendly. Suite was perfect. Great space & having the fridge/cooking area was great. The walk to the Bellagio & Aria was so easy. The Vdara is a great location for exploring Vegas & really made no difference not having a casino onsite. Added bonus for us was we were able to use Marriott points for the room meaning we only had the resort tax to pay. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Dated 3-Star hotel at best for a 5-star price

We stayed at Vdara about eight years ago and had an exceptional experience, so we were excited to return this time with our children to celebrate the holiday season. Unfortunately, this stay turned out to ...be a complete disappointment. While the staff was friendly and helpful (which I do appreciate), I regret to say that I would not return to this hotel. Bathroom Door Lock: The bathroom door lock was broken and couldn’t be secured. It was evident that the door had been in disrepair for months without any attention. Although we contacted maintenance and the issue was addressed during our stay, this should not have been an issue in the first place. Mini-Fridge: The mini-fridge was broken, with a dangling door and leaking water. As this is a "studio hotel with fridge," we brought food to store, only to have to discard it due to the fridge’s condition. We were informed that the fridge couldn’t be repaired during our stay because it was managed by the "minibar department." Water Faucets: The water faucets were loose and labeled incorrectly with "blue" for hot water and "red" for cold. My 4-year-old son turned the "blue" side on and nearly burned himself with hot water. Additionally, the faucet continued to release hot water even after being switched to cold, which highlights significant maintenance issues that need immediate attention. Missing Hair Conditioner: There was no hair conditioner provided, despite two bottles of body wash. However, after contacting housekeeping, they promptly resolved the issue by providing the conditioner. Mini-Bar: The mini-bar was overpriced and highly sensitive, with no clear price menu. While it was mentioned that pricing could be found on the in-room tablet, there was no tablet in our room. Although we didn’t consume any mini-bar items, my children inadvertently touched a few, which resulted in significant charges. We had to address this with the front desk to have the charges removed. Carpet Condition: The carpet was outdated, and the areas connecting the studio, kitchen, and bathroom had broken and exposed sections. This was a clear sign of neglect and lack of proper maintenance. Filtered Water Access: Despite Vdara promoting itself as a "green hotel," there was no access to filtered water. The gym (which closes at 5 pm) did not offer filtered water, only bottled water. The nearest filtered water station was at the Aria gym, which was inconvenient. Marriott Welcome Bons: Due to the Marriott-MGM collaboration, Marriott Platinum and Titanium members receive a mere $15/day resort credit. Considering the high prices at the hotel, this credit is insufficient and doesn't go far. After raising these concerns, the hotel staff kindly waived our resort fees, which I appreciate. However, given Vdara’s reputation as a 5-star hotel under the MGM brand, we were shocked by the outdated facilities and poor management. Based on this experience, I will not consider staying here again.

Not meet my expectation !!

adeliah87 (Las Vegas, Nevada) on Jan 03, 2025

As a local celebrating the New Year, I chose to stay at this hotel. The check-in process was seamless, and the guest service was friendly and accommodating, though the New Year crowds made the wait longer.... The room was adequate, and the Wi-Fi was satisfactory. However, I had issues with the water temperature—it remained hot even after I adjusted it to cold. Conveniently, the hotel is located near the Cosmopolitan, Aria, and Bellagio. However, the pool was closed for the winter. There's a $20 daily charge to rent a coffee machine in your room. My experience at another four-star hotel included a complimentary coffee machine and supplies. To top it off, the guest service was quite rude at checkout and charged me for items I hadn’t used. When I raised this issue, they solved the problem with poor service. I decided I wouldn’t stay here again. As for benefits for members of Marriott, it doesn’t make any difference because in Vegas, all Marriott hotels partner with MGM, so I don’t see any benefits to being a member except for booking with points.
