Is acceptable, not the many food options at the buffet, and the restaurants with reservations they do get full to soon, and sometimes only one is open so it make worst, for the guest, after all is ok, Good views, bigger shore and many options for pictures

Room mix-up almost derails an almost perfect vacation

Milton A on Dec 04, 2024

Several things went wrong during this vacation that led to an Average over an Excellent rating. For starters, we booked a fantasy suite with a king bed using Orbitz. We got a room with two double beds instead out by the back 40. Yes, the email said that we should check with the venue to ensure that our request would be honored, however, this does not align with keeping good customer service protocols. If a business sees a customer has booked a higher price suite that is unavailable, THE BUSINESS, not the customer has to onus to inform the customer. We called the front desk and were told matter-of-factly that the suite we were assigned was indeed a fantasy suite. Not sure if the word fantasy translates but okay. We went down to the front desk to ask about obtaining a credit or refund for the fantasy suite we didn't get but were assigned to a different suite, this time with a king bed. We quickly transferred rooms and headed out to grab dinner at El Palmar buffet, more on the food later...Later that night we returned to our new suite to unpack and discovered that not only did the hot water NOT work, but we also had a stream of ants and a clogged sink. After two calls to the front desk a maintenance person showed up with a can of Raid and a plunger. The ants were abated, and the sink was unclogged. As for the lack of hot water, the maintenance personnel unceremoniously informed us we were "too far from the boiler which was located up by the front desk". This led to us having to run the "hot" water for about 15 minutes prior to it becoming lukewarm for showering. We never had hot water once during our stay. Now for the food. The last time we were here was in 2022 and I don't remember the effort being mailed in as badly as it was this year. The breakfast buffet was good the shining star being the made-to-order omelets. Lunch buffet was not attended by our party during this stay. The dinner buffet however was and there is nothing noteworthy to say about it. Some of the items appeared to have been prepared for lunch and allowed to stay in the warmers for hours on end. Others simply did not taste good. The same can be said for Legazpi and El Terral, which we ate at the 3rd night of our stay. Everyone's extra charge steak was not cooked properly, and the sides were about the only items consumed. The Oasis taco bar was ALWAYS good! The bottom line: Come to Las Hadas for the pool, the beach, and the restaurants on the pier. The rooms are clean but if you expect four stars then you will be disappointed.
