Worst trip
Janice S on Nov 16, 2024
One of the worst trips we have had Every day it was a guess what they will run out of today would it be ice, red stripe beer, wine, smoothie ingredients etc etc As for the Butler service that was also a waste of time. We did not really understand why they were there, they certainly were not adding anything to the experience The restaurants all looked the same inside with no ambience at all plus apart from two restaurant the Italian & fish restaurant the food was mediocre at best Staff also complained about the low wages they were being paid & how the resort would rather waste the money on fireworks than them . Not exactly what you want to hear when you are on vacation Would not recommend at all
Tough Review to Write...Quality DROP
Mandy L on Oct 21, 2024
This is a difficult review to write, as we've loved this resort in the past, but our recent 10-day stay marked our sixth visit and was by far the worst experience we've had. If you’re looking to overpay for a resort that frequently runs out of essential items, this is the place for you. Despite the staff's efforts to accommodate requests, it’s clear that the new leadership prioritizes profit over guest satisfaction. For instance, our request for a bottle of Tito's at the Reggae Pool Bar remained unresolved by the time we left. The mini bars were poorly stocked, and premium drinks were often unavailable, despite being advertised. Almost every restaurant was out of half the menu items, and finding something as simple as soda water felt like a scavenger hunt. Other guests joked about hosting a potluck by bringing items from their mini fridges to the pool bar! The welcome dinner, which used to be exclusive to Lido guests, has now been diluted to include Hideaway guests, resulting in budget cuts that have affected the quality. The raffle prizes have significantly decreased in value—what used to include bottles of champagne and culinary experiences now offers coupons for the gift shop. We won a 20% off coupon, which was disappointing. Additionally, the food at the welcome dinner was subpar, leading many at our table to leave for a better meal elsewhere. The resort’s exterior and rooms reflect a lack of care under the new management. Until they restore the standards that made the Lido special, I strongly recommend considering other options for your stay. I truly hope the dedicated staff—who continue to provide excellent service despite these challenges—find a place where they can truly thrive. Special thanks to Simone, Ricky, Peaches, Condley, and Michelle for their outstanding efforts during our stay. We appreciate all that you do!
