This has been by far one of the worst resorts I have ever stayed at in Jamaica. The rooms were very outdated and old looking. The faucets were rusty….there were roaches by the pool bar and buffet restauran...t. Most of the restaurants you needed reservations for were completely booked or closed and were actually empty inside. The beach/ pool chairs were old looking. The food was mediocre and the drinks were terrible. Low grade alcohol and you had to pay extra for anything quality. They didn’t even offer Appleton rum included. The luxury side had a completely different smell of lemon verbena vs regular side of musk. Overall I enjoyed my time with my family, but I would never stay at this resort again even if it was free.

I’ve been on countless vacations and cruises and never felt the need to leave a review—until now. My experience at Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica Luxury was so unbelievably bad that I cried and wanted to lea...ve after the first day. That’s why I’m writing this: to warn others before they spend their hard-earned money here. The customer service was absolutely terrible. I traveled with a group of six, and we were treated so poorly throughout our stay. Staff were rude, dismissive, and acted like they didn’t want to be there. I don’t know if they’re understaffed or just burned out, but it felt like no one cared at all. I tried calling the resort every day for two weeks before our trip to confirm dining reservations and communicate our dietary restrictions. No one ever answered. When we finally resorted to emailing, we got a vague, unhelpful reply. Once we arrived, we were told only two restaurants were available during our five-day stay—even though we tried booking 10 days in advance. The rest were apparently blocked off for the “Privilege Club.” So much for “all-inclusive.” Dinners dragged on for over three hours due to painfully slow service. One bartender at the pool straight-up told us, “I don’t want to,” when we asked for a drink. It was beyond unprofessional. The resort was also not clean. There were cockroaches in our room and in the dining areas—disgusting and unacceptable. And while the beaches looked beautiful in photos, you can’t really swim because the shoreline is full of rocks, making it dangerous and uncomfortable. It’s honestly baffling to me how this place has so many five-star reviews—until we found out why: the resort gives guests a free bottle of rum in exchange for a five-star rating. That’s incredibly misleading and unfair to future travelers. Please don’t let the pictures or the “Luxury” label fool you. This was one of the worst travel experiences of my life, and I truly hope this review helps someone avoid the same disappointment.
