Don’t buy into the hype that it’s too far away

Honestly, this hotel is the most escapist one we’ve stayed at on Disney property. After a split stay at four different DVC properties we finished our vacation with Kidani and it was the hotel where all our Disney “tactical military mission” stressors evaporated. The pool is so exotic feeling (and in our opinion beats the one over at Jambo) and the music, smells and decor completely transport you to an African lodge. The only reason we give it four stars has nothing to do with the transportation (which really isn’t challenging at all unless you’re someone who loves to rope drop), but because the rooms are showing need for refurbishment (which is scheduled to happen soon) . Once that happens this hotel will be back in our top 2.
7-nights with family at Kidani 2-bedroom villa

Just returned from a 7-night trip in a 2-bedroom villa in Kidani Village. Pros: - beautiful lobby and grounds very well maintained - best food at WDW - we are at BOMA several times as well as QS for breakfast at Mara - beds are very comfortable - buses were consistent and we never waited more than 7 minutes Kidani pool was awesome. Kids loved it! - 2-bedroom villa layout was great for our family of 6 Cons: - the room was EXTREMELY outdated and in need of desperate refurbishment. If this were a Marriott, I’d be disappointed. When paying $10,000+ for a week, Disney needs to be better - this property is very far from anything Overall, great trip but we will be staying elsewhere next time (Boardwalk or Bay Lake)
