Wonderful Stay!

Jaclyn D on Sep 28, 2024

Very well kept hotel, friendly staff & walkable location to many of Portland’s attractions. Beautifully decorated and maintained. Definitely check out the hotels historical staircase to learn about the history of Portland, Oregon and the celebrity guest who have visited the Benson! I would definitely recommend a stay here!!

Increidble

Claire C on Sep 28, 2024

This hotel was incredible! We only spent one night here after our road trip around the state and it was the best way to end a trip! It's conveniently located to all the hot spots - Powells Books, Patagonia, etc. the rooms are huge & super clean! It was such a comfortable stay. Be sure to check out the historical staircase while you stay here, there is so much history captured at this hotel.

Beautiful old hotel with staffing issues

kvbrowning (Catalina Foothills, Arizona) on Sep 16, 2024

Upon arrival, there were valets, but really no one offered to help with luggage. The staff that checked us in was friendly, but any further interaction with the front desk was not a very pleasant experience- a hodgepodge of staff/ some neat and polished, others quite disheveled, and did not seem overly willing or interested in assisting the hotel patrons. The room was nice and clean and the bed was incredibly comfy and cozy. The restaurant had the friendliest servers (inc the bar) , but seemed a bit understaffed. The food was ok, but nothing really outstanding. Good location within walking distance to pretty much anything you could want. Lots of encounters with homeless folks ( heartbreaking), but that seems to be a whole city/area issue. Vallee parking charge is $49 (looks like in an unsecured area) but there is a parking garage just across the street where you can park securely for $28 a night. I almost booked a different Hilton, but generally love staying in historic properties. The visit was almost great, but not really memorable and I think we may give one of the other Hiltons a try next time.

Live piano in lobby

Excellent location to many restaurants downtown. Live piano in the lobby. Historic hotel with updated touches. Clarissa upon check in was very helpful in providing recommendations for restaurants and umbrellas during an unexpected rain shower.

Great for a stay in downtown

bernardog833 on Sep 09, 2024

This is a great hotel wikth quite the vintage, classic feel. The building is above average, and the overall feel is that of a prime location. The hotel has great services and a nice corner restaurant to lounge in. Would recomend and would return.
