In the heart of downtown this hotel is so great. It was our anniversary and they upgraded us to one bedroom suite. And the valet was super easy (and charged our tesla for us). I love the old look and that Mother's is right there. But also the breakfast had all the buffet options. And while some say it's a dungeon it was totally great as the ceilings are like 20 ft high and doesn't feel enclosed at all. The pool and hot tubs were great for a mid day break. Walkable to things (Voodoo donuts just around the corner). Best choice to stay here.

It was nice to have such a lot of space - living area as well as bedroom. The complimentary evening reception (two complimentary drinks each) was a nice touch and the breakfast - also included - had a very good range including a cook to order omelette chef. A couple of issues with our visit - we were there 3 nights Friday to Monday and the bed was never made, new towels arrived once on the Saturday morning and the bins were emptied and coffee replenished at that time. We weren’t sure if we were supposed to ask to have the room made up at Reception but when I mentioned our room hadn’t been seen to in 3 days at check out, the lady at the front desk was mortified and apologised. It would have been really helpful to have a proper map of the area - apparently, the hotel used to have them but ran out and the new ones are rubbish, they don’t even have the hotel on them! The lady on Reception did helpfully suggest that we use Google maps but we don’t have a data roaming package for our phones in the US so we rely on hotel maps and concierge/ front desk recommendations. However, we managed by ourselves and found a great food market a couple of blocks behind the hotel as well as a cracking Irish bar with live music.
