Overall good experience

SeetheWorldExplorer (San Diego, California) on Sep 26, 2024

Overall great stay. We found that the hotel staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. This place is a great use for points because it’s so expensive and rooms are basic, very few with balconies, but the staff made it great. Great location right on the waterfront and great breakfast, would return again!

Go-to Hotel in Vancouver

WTravelerSeattle (Seattle, Washington) on Sep 25, 2024

Still our go-to hotel property in Vancouver! Really like that my Bonvoy level is recognized and my room and late check out requests are fulfilled each time without any issues. Front desk is always professional, courteous, and friendly. Love the deep outdoor pool and restaurant, plus the great Stanley Park location if you are the biking type. Really like the free breakfast option vs. points offered during check-in. Great coffee and on-the-water dinners spots located nearby within 5-minute walking distance. Robson Street is about a 15-minute walk if you want to go shopping or find other great restaurant options. Rooms are clean with good daily housekeeping. We will continue to be loyal patrons here. Keep up the great job!

Super convenient to Stanley Park, but there are negatives, including tiny glass shower

657karolinea on Sep 24, 2024

We stayed here this month and found it to be a great location that is super convenient to Stanley Park, good (but pricey) food, a comfy bed and clean. We enjoyed our time here. BUT, there are three negatives - the bathroom, the furniture placement and the elevators. With regard to the bathroom, it has the SMALLEST, MOST CRAMPED, glass-door shower EVER. I am 5 foot 4 inches, and just shy of 150 pounds and I bumped into the sides of the shower when bathing. a. lot. I don't know how a larger person would even fit into that space. Speaking of the bathroom, the sink is practically backed right up to the toilet, so when brushing teeth, you tend to bump the back of your legs on the toilet. So the bathroom, while functional, is one of the worst I've experienced in a hotel. Furniture arrangement is also terrible. We stayed in a harbor view suite with a living room. When sitting on the sofa in the living room, did we have a view of the harbor? No. we did not. the sofa was placed against the other wall, so even though the window looked out on harbor, when sitting on sofa we had a view of all the windows of all the condos on the shoreline. The sofa should be backed to the wall that currently has the desk & TV, which would then afford a view of the harbor. Also, one of the elevators was out of service. And the elevator we were using made terrible noises, so that is another negative.

LOVE / HATE FEELINGS

boog33 (Toronto, Canada) on Sep 24, 2024

This was a love / hate relationship. I LOVED the cleanliness . I LOVED the warm towels at the pool … I LOVED the old fashioned at the bar with the fire … I HATED that they booked me in a double room when I reserved a KING and they moved me but did not apologize. I HATE that the safe was broken and had to be fully replaced… IHATE that the room phone was also broken and I had to borrow a phone to call the front desk to complain… I HATE that I was. BONVOY member and still paid $600 for a room with a view of a dumpster.

Expensive, not impressive.

Location is what you are paying for (very dearly): and even the location is a good long walk from anything, but the view (bay facing) is very pleasant. Bonvoy Elites, there is no executive lounge, none. Liquor store is a 700m walk (either BCL or Coal Harbour). Further, you will get breakfast tickets to the cold (continental?) buffet, which does not include meats, cheeses or eggs of any style, not even powdered scrambled. The fitness center is way too small, claustrophobic. They have planned a new fitness center late 2024. The Peloton bike studio is nice: you can just use it as a spinning bike and skip their video stuff. The sauna boxes poolside are nice if you sauna, not very hot so you must sit there a longer time to reach sweat. I would try a different Marriot property if I were to visit Vancouver again: expensive, not impressive. No executive lounge is a bad joke on Bonvoy Elites.
